I am going to buy my AT2 soon and I have been looking at the guns. So I am trying to see what people like best. 6 pdr MK 5 or the 3.7 inch howitzer? I have had lot of luck with the 6 pdr or the 57mm gun on other tanks. I have never done well with the 3.7 inch howitzer. I know the 6 pdr lack punch and damage. Where the 3.7 inch gun has damage but can not hit to ofen with it. So plz vote let me know what gun you like. Ohh and plz no chats about how OP this TD is this is not about it armor it about it guns.

Use the 6 pounder, its got a machinegun ROF and is adequately accurate.

6 pdr mk 5, one second reload and pretty good accuracy even though it says it's 0.37.

You'll want to the 6-pounder. It's handy for de-tracking enemies that are trying to get too close.

I like the 3.7 for some reason when I use the 6pdr I can pen tanks but never get damage. When I switched to the 3.7 I was hitting heavies for 300dmg and I was lucky to get 20dmg with the 6pdr a shot

Don't use HE on the 6 pdr. I use 2/3 AP and 1/3 APCR (used for tier 7s). With 2 sec reload I'll use the first shot to track my target, and then cycle 2 shots for damage and 1 shot to keep them tracked until they die.
I am not using gold ammo also. If I did the 3.7 would be even better.

As for cost, the 6 pdr AP rounds have the same pen as the 3.7 HEAT rounds, at a fraction of the cost. Shooting HE at targets and doing 30-50% of the listed damage all the time is just hurting your team at the times you could be doing full damage with HEAT or AP (although it's fine when fighting tanks you can't pen or have to shoot a small spot to pen).

Your loss. There's really no reason to not have at least a few Sprem now that you can get them for credits. It's like running a tank without any consumables - you can, but you're just hurting yourself and your team.

There is a good reason why the 6 pdr APCR shells cost less, they do far less damage, so there really is no advantage over using the 6pdrs gold versus the 3.7s.

So you can shoot 6 pdr AP standard rounds for a fraction of the cost of HEAT rounds and have the same pen for about 7% less DPM, and then switch to higher pen APCR rounds for harder targets instead of relying on HE splash damage.
So the 3.7 is slightly better if you spam HEAT rounds, and the 6 pdr is slightly less effective for much lower cost, but is also far more accurate. I think it's a real choice of preference, neither is the obvious best gun all the time.

I run the 3.7 for one reason and one reason only: To kill other AT 2s. HE shells to the gun mantlet work incredibly well in that regard, and when I need to put some hurt on something big they work just as well.
