Can someone who is skilled in greasemonkey take my idea and run with it? I'm thinking of a sort of XVM for the forums. I would like to see two levels of functionality:
First, a level that recolors the background of a post based on the stats of the player, preferably customizable to win rate, wn7, noobmeter, some combination of those. (Just plain win rate would be a nice start.)
If that was possible, the second level of functionality would be if you could set a cutoff level where you could autocollapse replies based on those stats (like how slashdot handles scores on comments.) A sort of ignore for bad players (with the user deciding what qualifies as "bad" to them.)
Is this something anyone would be interested in creating (or using?) I personally just don't find anything useful in posts by 44% players. I don't want to censor them -- I just don't want to have to wade through their replies to see what people better at the game than me think.

This site isn't a game. You can't mod it.
You are wrong.

I think it's a good idea. It could be done relatively easily, but who's going to host the data? Send a PM to azdel and ask him about it, he might even make the script himself.

I may relearn some JavaScript to try it myself, but I don't know how efficient it would be without some kind off caching, which I know îs beyond my abilities. But if it just starts out by grabbing w/r off the main wot site and changing some CSS, I might be able to get it started.

When I have the time I'll try to rig something up.

I remember something similar that Garbad posted a long time ago.
I also remember said topic being locked, junked and trashed to oblivion and back.
I tried searching, nothing.

What you want is certainly doable but there are a couple problems to deal with. One is just looking up the stats for every poster and the other is the possibility of a forum name not being tied to an actual game account. I would also expect that forum HTML changes on a regular basis, making script maintenance a pain in the ass.
ed. Although the proposed tool doesn't sound very appealing to me, I am considering working on a simpler version that completely removes "ignored user" messages and also any post that quotes an ignored user. This not only achieves my personal desire to not ever see an ignored user post, is also gets the whole point of using nuclear weapons.

It's completely doable, but would significantly reduce loading times as the script would have to ping the server with all the information. Doubt it would be realisticly usuable.

Do you mean increase page load times? At any rate the page would load normally and would be fully functional. The stats will however take some time to be fetched and displayed.
That's my main concern. I don't have the skill to either have the stats load as they are recieved while the page initially displays, or to cache the fetched stats for a while (especially since you see the same couple of hundred characters over and over on the forums.)

I would be perfectly happy for non-Dev accounts like that to be marked as a 0% win rate, for my own purposes at least. Those accounts are almost certainly troll accounts.
