I have a general question about the British medium line from tier 7 up.

I currently have the Comet, and while I don't have a lot of battles in it (15), I love it and I seem to be doing something right when I play it (80% win rate). My question is this: How closely related is the play style of the Comet to that of the Centurions and the FV 4202? Am I going to enjoy them as much as the Comet, and will I be able to play as well?

I was kinda disappointed by the Tier 10 medium in the British line. I didn't even bother going down it in the live server.

Completely different, OP, unless you have been using a lot of gold round.

So, I've only played the Centurion 1 (the Cent 7/1 has been researched but not enough cash yet :( ) and I'd say that the Cromwell/Comet plays very differently to the Centurion.

Whilst I havent played the American heavy line yet, I understand it plays a bit like them - soft full, strong turret; play static-ish hull down second row and snipe the crap out of them with an accurate gun with good pen... and I imagine the Cent 7/1 will be very similar.

The Cent is still a good tank though, so you might still enjoy it despite the different play style.  I sure had fun (and I'm keeping mine! :))

Centurion is much better than Comet but every game you have to work hard to keep the hull hidden else you die fast.

Yup and get the right skills for your crew. The British are easily one of the most squishy factions in the game. Second only to the french. Outside of hull down all the mediums are fairly squishy. They catch on fire easily, lose ROF off ammo rack damage and are somewhat costly to run.

They easily have the best guns starting with the cent. Just watch the ammo price with the tank
Its over double of its competitors, with lowish damage.

From what I've seen, the playstyle will be utterly different. More or less very similar to the Panthers in playstyle - it's all about sniping since the guns have a low rate of fire/DPM. On the upside however, having 226mm and then 268mm of pen at Tiers 8 and 9 is superb. You're essentially a kind of tank destroyer that can hurt the big guys. Just don't expect to win out on a slugging match of pure DPM.

The play styles are completely differnt!!!!

The Comet is a fast light/medium flanker that is great when you get to enemy side armor/rear armor.

The Centurion Mk. 1 is a medium tank straight up. The tank is very slow compared to the Comet and Cromwell and with the Mk. 1 you get a pretty damn great gun on it.

Use the two Centurions (Mk. 1 and Mk. 7/1) as main battle tanks since that is what they are. The turret armor on both or great and you want to try to get hull down just like the T29 and the T32 American heavies.

They are also snipers just like the Comet so that rolde doesn't change.

The 4202 I have not play yet. I am right now at the Mk. 7/1 and enjoying it. Been getting some really vrappy teams lately though.

I have the Comet the Cent Mk 7/1 and the FV4202 -- I skipped over the Cent Mk 1 tho.

I absolutely hate the Comet more than any other tank in this game -- this is strictly my opinion and how it relates to my play style.

The Cent Mk 7/1 and the FV4202 play very similar the guns are the same the 4202 has a quicker turning ability and slightly faster speeds than the Cent Mk 7/1 , but I wouldnt trade either of these tanks away at all.

The tanks Comet and Cents play differently from each other and if you go thru the Cent line play out the Mk 7/1 completely before using the 4202 because it will help adjust and exploit the 4202s slight differences to its best.  They are sniper/ambush tanks not brawlers so keep that in mind as well.

My Cent Mk 7/1 has Gun rammer, Binocs, and camo net for modules.  I have small repair kit, first aid, and fire extinguishers.
My 4202 has gun rammer, vents and stabilizer or camo net.  I bought camo for it.  I use the small repair kit and fire extinguishers with the lend lease oil for better speed and turret traverse.

Cent 1 is a pure hull down sniper as opposed to the flanker type that the comet is.

The Cent 7/1 continues this but also comes with adequate hull armor allowing you to join in close fighting, especially with the 20 lb er type B which gives 250 dmg with sub 5 second reloads. The last gun with the Cent 7 is the L7 and gives great dmg and pen, but with a slow reload, turning you into kind of a pocket heavy.

The Comet is a decent tank, and you can play it similar to the Centurion.  However, you really need to watch the minimap since you don't really have the speed to run away like you could with the Cromwell.  If you see that you might get flanked or overrun, its time to get out and find a new hole to dig into  The Comet has very good depression, and if you get hull down enough so your gun is just above the ground the turret is pretty hard to hit.  Combine that with a really high rate of fire, and you can be a major irritation to tanks.

Colber has it right on with the Sho't.  Its a sniper, bushwhacker tank that excels, in my opinion, as a defender...especially in pairs.

Everyone seems to hate the Comet, but I loved that thing.

The Centurions, though, I love far more. The Cent 1 is a beast of a tier 8, in hilly battles, you have an incredibly strong turret, great gun depression, and a weapon with cruel levels of penetration, The Cent 7 has that, and gets the 105mm L7A1 - I went from dishing out some 2.5k damage battles in a good match with the 20pder to putting out over 3k much more often, the gun's pen and damage are amazing. Easily worth the Comet, which at least for me, was a lot of fun, I often think about rebuying it,

Did WG ninja buff the comet? I swear last 2 weeks I've been on the bottom of the list, but this week I'm on top most of the time. That being said I'm enjoying the tank more.
