It is not always easy to know which parts to color when making a skin. Here is a small tool that helps to identify the parts of the tank on file. dds.
How do you use? Create a transparent layer on your file, add the 'gitter' and if need be, paint. The numbers help identify the parties 'hidden' in your tank.
Currently there are no more excuses!

I love you man, thanks a lot, so far I was working with a spectrum of colours placed all over the skin, but this will work much better  :Smile_honoring:

You might want to upload it as a jpeg/png file instead, smaller size and anyone will be able to use it. Not everyone has photoshop.

I use a different grid along with a combination of alternating bands of colours, but this grid has smaller grids and numbers so it would be very useful in finding those very tiny bits.

edit: I uploaded your gitter as a PNG file, I hope you don't mind.

Way ahead of ya, I already included a link to this thread in the relevant section in my stickied guide. Someone else had also previously posted a link to a similar grid in the guide.

Thank you, this thread was very helpful. Before, I would put the skins together one piece at a time, and it took forever. this should cut the time a lot.
