Since I have noticed some other people make their own custom tech trees and tanks, I thought it would be a good idea to start my own.

Anyways, so this is the armored branch for the fictional nation of the "Armed Republic of Glacya." All vehicles in the tech tree are black in color.

Edit #1: I just tweaked the tech tree a bit by moving the XM5's text to the center of the square and renamed the MAP-L1.4 to the MAP-L4.1.

Edit #2: Added in the Light Tanks section.

Edit #3: I have decided to change the look of the XL1 Experimental, mainly due to the fact that it looks too far ahead of its time. However, I may use the original design for another tank in the future, so be on the look out.

Edit #4: I added in new premium vehicles. They are some of wheeled_tank's vehicles, who granted me permission to use them.

Edit #5: Added new medium line coming off of the lend lease vehicles along with a new premium.

Edit #6: Finished modules for the XL1. Added in all of the vehicles for each category, premiums included, also fixed the H14 - H14 Leopard problem. The H14 Leopard has been renamed the H16 Leopard.

Edit #7: The XL1 Experimental has been renamed to the XL1 Test Bed because XL stands for Experimental Light, which makes the "Experimental" in the name redundant. Also, added in six new Premium Vehicles: the XMAP1 (Tier V SPG), the M12 Reaper (Tier VII Medium), the XM15 (Tier V Medium), the TD-JgPz. V Jagdpanther (Tier VII TD), the H-Pz. VII Lowe, and the M26 Pershing w/ 108 mm Cannon (Tier VIII Medium.)

Edit #8: Added in a brief description and the module paths for the L1 and TD-M9.3 premium vehicles.

Edit #9: Sketch for the XL1 is finally up!

Time for the first tank, the XL1 Experimental, Tier 1 light tank and start of the Armed Republic of Glacia tech tree.

In it's standard configuration, the XL1 Experimental should be played like a support tank. When it's fully upgraded, the XL1 Experimental should take the role of a spotting TD due to it's good radio, view range, and excellent gun for its tier. The angles on the tank make it good when it comes to bounces, however, it is still an easy target for other tanks due to it being slightly larger than most other Tier 1 and Tier 2 tanks.

By niche, I assume you mean weakness (if I'm wrong, please correct me). They would not excel mainly in armor or traverse speed. Also, a lot of the early tanks have high silhouettes.

Well, there pros would be good firepower (great penetration, but not the best alpha damage), decent speed, and good aim times. Mainly, everything else (hit points, susprension, ect.) would be pretty average.

Added in a more in-depth history for the XL1 Experimental. I also changed some stats and I added in the country flag and the decal or emblem for the Glacian Tech Tree. I hope to have up the sketches and contours for the XL1 up soon along with a SketchUp model.

I see there are not as many captured tanks as I thought  "wink".

And now great. Now *I* need to make a flag.(friendly competition is ok, right?)

Edit:Does the XL1 start with a non-auto auto-gun?

I'll be adding more captured tanks xD

You can make a flag and I'm fine with some friendly competition.

Also, the XL1 does not start with an auto-gun. I'll have a list of modules done in a minute.

What make fast assault tanks different from "normal" tanks? Are they fast but unarmored?

Almost, fast assault tanks are lightweight, lightly armored tanks with the firepower of a heavy tank, the speed of a light tank, and the maneuverability of a medium tank. It is not, however, a MBT due to the fact that these were not meant to be front line vehicles, but more of hit and run/reconnaissance vehicles.

The contours are nice, and they look great so far. The XL1 reminds me of Japanese and Czech tanks, like the Pz38t and the Type 97 and 95 tanks. It looks a bit too modern for something of the late 1930's, maybe you should change the production date to 1939 or 1940, like the era where the M2 Medium was rolling out in the USA.

Another interesting note is that your tanks all have been christened, per say, rather modern names. "Scorpion", "Grizzly", and "Ambusher" sound like something that would appear in Halo, not a WWII tank series. Oh well, they sound good all the same, can't really complain here.

Also, perhaps you should adopt a modeling program to 3d render these tanks. Would be a shame if something with so much promise wasn't modeled...
