Howdy fan of german tanker
I follow this nugget. http://www.ceskatele...kistickeho-esa/

Vrbovec (Znojmo) - Archaeologists have found the remains of the greatest tank aces of World War Kurt Knispel. After a long search for various war cemeteries are a number of factors attracted to Vrbovce to Hodonínsko. The bodies of the soldiers picked up and confirmed that one of them belongs to Knispel - by Vlastimil Schildberger of the Moravian Museum conscripts, who can not be regarded as a great supporter of Nazism, a native of Salisov the Golden Mountains in Jeseníkách.
Already last year, the researchers found exactly where the remains are located. Now the body exhumed and found out who it belonged to - identify and Knispelovo. Because vrboveckém soldiers died in the hospital were buried only in cotton shirts with a minimum of personal belongings. However, they were not missing identification tags that soldiers wore around his neck. "Finding Knispelova body is really successful, because until the last moment whether he in the grave really is and, if so, whether it will be possible to identify his remains," said Eva Pánková of the Moravian Museum. Bodies identified soldiers will then be re-buried at the Brno Military Cemetery in the German section.
Kurt Knispel during the Second World War he served first as a charger, but soon as the shooter and destroyed 168 enemy tanks. Most victories on the Eastern Front, however, fought against the Western allies - for example in Normandy and the Ardennes. End of the war, however, did not live. "He fell in our area, 28 April (1945) was seriously wounded in the fighting at either a comet or near Nová Ves, where he was reportedly shot in the abdomen suffer - when damaged tank damages and his colleagues tried to extricate the tank," said Vlastimil Schildberger of the Moravian Museum. Twenty-three trooper also called the Black Baron died the next day at the field hospital.
The end of a long quest
Archaeologists have long desired Knispel remains to find, but still groping. "It has been established that is allegedly buried in Pohoelicích in Miroslavi ..." said Vlastimil Schildberger. But in the end proved to be the right place South Moravian Vrbovec. A representative of the Moravian Museum had brought the records that archaeologists have obtained from Kassel association for the care of war graves. "According to their records should be buried in the local community," explained archaeologist as he got on the track to real Knispelovu grave.
Although Kurt Knispel tank ace Nazi Germany, historians are convinced that his comments may be opposite of the old Nazi propaganda. Knispel is forgotten by Vlastimil Schildberger definitely does not fit into the template blinded Hitler assassin. "He had personal problems with equipment and discipline, wore long hair, a beard. Personnel records from the German side has to be defended Russian prisoner of war - when it struck an SS man and beat the SS man," characterized Schildberger Black Baron.
Indeed, the largest tanker Second World War did not reach a higher rank than the sergeants, the award was given only Military Cross first and second class and the German Cross. On the knight was designed by Schildberger four times, but did not get it because of disciplinary problems. It therefore remained virtually unknown. "Supporters of military history is known to be a tank commander Michael Wittmann, was an officer SS Panzer Division Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler, which only reached 116 victories and died in Normandy after the Allied landings. Latter was the German propaganda in many weeklies shown as an example of Nazi power. Whereas the Kurt Knispel in Germany ever knew - probably because it came from our territory, was such a rebel and a normal soldier, who had to serve the case, "said Vlastimil Schildberger.

the czech translation is a  little  rough. Its  nice to know a great tanker  will finally have a  resting  place that isnt an  unmarked mass grave in a battlefield far from home.
Quick  translation error  charger is loader  and shooter is gunner. Also  the 503 report  list kurt as a  commander  when he died do to  manpower shortage

These figures are exaggerated. As much I came to destroy tanks 100-110, and my numbers were inflated by the German Ministry of Propaganda. Do Knispel figures? Pure propaganda. I had the opportunity to meet members of his crew in Russia and they themselves admitted that they dont destroyed more than 60 or 70 tanks.

Rest in peace.  Its good he was returned home to be with his brothers.  I imagine his grave will be a popular visit for history lovers and enthusiasts like  other war heroes'.

In all honesty, kill counts are a poor measure of greatness anyway. Luftwaffe pilots for instance tended to regard lower-scoring pilots better if they served in the West rather than the East, because the British/American pilots were in general better than the Russians. That's what happens when a US pilot averages two years of training time while Russians were lucky to get a few months.

Knispel's outstanding quality was that he refused to play the propaganda games and was just a good soldier. He often refused kills attributed to him knowing they were often made up.

Pretty much. I never really understood this forum-worship of "unicums". If they give good advice then sure I'd give them a thumbs up but more often than not it's just self-promotion; especially when one remembers that only maybe 3 or 4 of the actual top 50 players actually post in the forums on a regular basis.

The honest truth of most high-win-rate players is that their win rate is more a reflection of good platooning, TCing, and clanning. Much like war, a single highly skilled soldier won't amount to much if he's put in an incompetently led Division, but a good/average player in a well-led clan will still keep racking up the wins because the clan's good management ensures that they will win most of their battles even before a shot is fired on the battlefield.

Equating battlefield success and kill rates are honestly the invention of the media and propaganda, who do not comprehend that war is a systems event, not a basketball game. This is why Knispel himself was dismissive of attempts to portray him as a stat-racking ace; he didn't want to be used by Goebbel's flunkies and he knew how meaningless it really was.

Funnily, I read recently that the Allies actually by and large had no idea who the German aces were during the war. This is why when Wittman was killed, nobody seemed to bother to record it for posterity. For the British takers who faced him, Wittman was just another SS tank commander in a Tiger; no different from any other. There was no " *Gasp* It's Wittman!" moments on the Allied side.

That Nazi Propaganda idolized him so much is a reflection of the growing desperation and delusion of the Nazi regime - which was by this point trying to shield itself from the overwhelming reality that they were in fact losing the war.
