The 168 hours and 96 hour locks on tanks in cases of losses is very ONEROUS or a heavy burden for younger and smaller clans who may not have players with multipkle top tier tanks. This in essence ensures the top clans who currently are getting free gold and owns most of the provinces in clan wars will continue to do so.

What I would like to propose is that clans who do not possess land have a maximum tank lock up of 23 hours. This ensures that the same tank isn't taken into another clan war in the same day while giving younger smaller clans another chance to battle in a FAIR manner with a decent chance of probability for success in the succeeding days.

Please strongly consider this WOT.

WG, tank locking is only adding fuel to the fire for all things CW that is broken, and don't give me that [censored] stuff saying its in beta. All tank locking does is that it will kill all the smaller clans and would cause the big ones like forge and G to get even more land to what they have now

Tank Locking is shit and shouldn't be in the game, it rewards account sharing.

I have no doubt that these features will be smoothly implemented, with little to no interruption in clan wars.

WG why not make it so that if a clan has less than 3 provinces and/or less than 1000 daily good income the tank locking times are reduced?

Hats off to you wargamming, really know how to troll the small clans. I have been looking forward to clan wars since before i got my first tier 5 about 8 months ago of the 1 year ive been playing, My rather small clan is gearing up to clan wars and were expecting to attempt landings in the next 3 months, thanks to you wargamming with your stupid tank-locking i am going to have to get a second or even third tier 10, and wait for my clan who some only have tiers 8-9, to catch up, thx for adding 1-1.5 more years to my wait.

P.S.- a little marketing tip: if you want more people to buy from you and play the game, dont piss them off

Dumb question here, but, does this tank locking affect clan wars availability only, or does it effectively lock the tank from being used in pubs too?

Really?  A clan that holds large swath of lands still only has 6 stacks.  If a riot occurs far from your HQ, do you move chips from a border province and leave the border vulnerable?  IMO, this will put a stop to clans controlling 10-15 provinces.  Chip mechanics just won't allow people to get chips where they need to.  Farms of 6-10 provinces probably won't be affected much, but bigger than that are probably a thing of the past.

This announcement.... should have come right after the announcement that "The server will be down for maintenance to implement the 8.5 update from 4/23/2013 - 2AM PST until 4/23/2013 6AM PST - Clan wars will be down for the day as well."

Where's THAT Announcement??  :confused:

Remember, tank locking does not affect landing zone tournaments, only the battle against owner.  This should actually help small clans win a landing zone.  However, they probably won't hold it for more than a day or two, then have to wait a week to fight again....

I like the tank locking idea... To understand why look up what tanks I own..... It makes being a collector and not swapping crews around sooooo worth it, least once you join a clan to do clan wars with.... My goal is to collect them all over time and never get rid of them.

Tank locking is an interesting idea. WG obviously wants more tank types to participate, because they want more tanks to be bought by players.
But implementation kills small clans.
I would made the locking time directly proportional to the number of provinces the clan is holding. And no locking for clans which do not own any province. Big clans have more players with better garage, and already hold much more gold from provinces, while small clans struggle even during landing, and will most likely have no decent tanks to defend the province they just won.

Well this is one way to fix the crappy pub-battle population of tier 10's.

Compel everyone to sell off 7's-9's for credits just to get 1-2 more CW "viable" tanks for the purposes of attrition.

Assuming enough people do this (I probably will get back 1-2 myself in this manner) it's
1) not necessarily gonna increase people's willingness to play tier 10 in pubs and
2) it's going to exaggerate even further the hilariously huge proportion of tier 8 premiums floating in the MM. Cause they will be the only tier 8's preferentially kept.
