Nevermind it seems like once you complain about the update on the forums it starts working

Lol. I wish that were the case. I have been dealing with thing to reload Wot for over a week, Inhad to replace my hard drive, Tech support has been responsive however the solutions don t work either.  So. My premium te is wasting away, but at least my gold balence has lasted a lot longer than expected. Lol.

Hopefully people will post what worked for them so is unfortunate souls can try what they did.

Happy tanking all!!!

Having same Problem.  Reaches 50% of update, then says failed, see log file.
Ive tried over 10 times and still get same error. I have also disable the real time protection in anti-virus.
Makes no difference.  Any suggestions?

I've been downloading the patch and its been failing to install. I wonder why it keeps wasting bandwidth on a dud patch. I've tryd manually patching, deleting old temp patch files and now im hoping it will work now that i am typing this just to make me look bad. Didnt work that time either. Critical error. Failed to install updates. The application cannot continue. For details, see log file.

  • I had this error trying to update to version 8.5. using the startup screen.  I went to the directory c:\games\world_of_tanks\updates directory and deleted the files that were partially downloaded on the day I was having the problem, in this case, the files were named wot_85.2535_85.2493_client.patch and wot_85.2493_84.2429_client.patch.  Once I did this, I was able to launch the client update function again.  It's now currently updating.

had the same error as eveyone else said check log file so after third attempt failed went into res mods folder and moved everthing there to desktop as temp. this removed any mods from updating equation. next attempt to update worked however after 3 hours it is still not finished WOT needs to upgrade their servers to fibre optics with all the money they been getting from players. their hardware is out of date to handle all these updates. they need to give us gold for every update to offset the inconveneince... and for info purpose the change password 300 gold was not to compensate us for the hassle but an oooops my bad for them leaking out our e-mail adddress and user info to the world / hackers..

My launcher is downloading 2 updates it seems. The 1st update was the +600mb file and then an integrity check, after that it starts a new update at 1047mb and is very slow. I share an internet connection with someone else and they might be updating making mine slow now but it seems odd the manual download file for the update is only 640mb or so and my launcher is doing 2 updates; one at +640mb and the other at 1047mb..

I also downloaded the manual patch file (649mb) and copied that into the updates dir but still trying to download this 1047mb update and stalling after.

had the error message as well and after 5 tries went in and removed my res mods folder contents to desk top (not folder but the contents) and update started ..3 hours later still at 64% so i went to the bottom of the client page clicked downloads and selected the 8.5 udate download and took 3 min to download and went in manually and deleted the download from the game client ..that never went anywhere and inserted the 8.5 from main site and boom up and running.

Turned off torrent updating and its moving forward now.

Still unsure if there are supposed to be 2 update downloads.. Like I said, the 649mb update went fine but then the 1047mb download that tried to torrent update was slow and buggy.

After the 1047mb update by turning off torrent updating the game is ready to go.

Now with 8.5 I am hoping the glitches I had with trying to instal  8.4 will be history,  but since I think I have Murphies law imbedded into this computer's bios, I remain speculative.

had all the same issues...finally had to resort to a complete deinstall and reinstalll...problem fixed as the latest update is included with the game itself.  Just hate running a marathon to update though.
