inspired by PogS' very original contour icon mod, many thanks to him.

well. my goal is simple
- base on original contour
- no text, graph only
- no mirror removal for right list
- no background colors or background bars
- tinted color for different tank types
- icons for tiers
- (possible) nationalities

> simple
> clear
> easy to identify

0.7 update note
- many thanks to Wonders for making 0.67 update during my absence. all credits of making 0.67 vehicle contours are to him!
- update new contours for new 0.7 vehicles

The image are broken :(

Following your message, I worked on a no background contour mod. Here is what I came up with :

In the test download, you'll find the psd and the 3 test TGAs (reworked compared to the preview below)
Only those 3 are generated but the psd is all prepared. All is needed is positioning the vehicles and create the alpha channels. This is really time consuming so if you have photoshop, I'd be gratefull if you could generate them ;)

Gray is for Germany
Green for USA
Red for USSR

Tier
Number
Star = Premium

Vehicle Colour :
Blue : TD
Green : Medium
Brown : Heavy
Yellow green : Light
Red : SPG

i can send you png->tga converter which creates alpha channels for you

i like this one too, it will become popular if you finishand release it. but since i don't want to break the mirror effect on right list, i prefer graph tier indicator since it is flippable.
but if you finish this, i'll give a try!

btw. i use XnViewer to convert PNG to TGA

I just relizes that I use very similiar software called FastStone Image Viewer and it's probably has the ability to convert png->tga with aplha as well :P

however the complexity makes them hard to identify, especially on the on-screen display by pressing alt. but thanks anyway.
if devs make separate contours for list and on-screen display, these fancy icons would be a great deco for list contour icons. but right now they would be horribly displayed on the battlefield.http://forum.worldof...mile_mellow.gif



some of my friends have already complained about how hard to memorize all tier icons of my mod (partly is was your ideahttp://forum.worldof.../Smile_harp.gif) since they don't want to "count the number of stars". they prefer numbers over graph.

you can't blame them for not acknowledging the big advantage of visual communication.

Actually if there were no red or green overlay above icons when pressing ALT, they would be readable. In fact we should find a way to remove these overlay in the corresponding flash file.

now it's time to figure out how to remove red/green tint. i'm going to work on it

It will be quite unreadable on tanks (alt-icons). Cause flash resizes image (the further the tank-the smaller it's icon)

If you manage to decompile and succesfully recompile I will try to eliminate this 'zooming effect'
