I think someone said this is like a Tier 5 KV-1s and that's not too far off, save it lacks the speed of the 1s.   I do not like the KV-1s or this tank though for solo play.   I see how potent it would be in a platoon with a durable partner with a high rate of fire.   The explosive pop of the gun is fantastic.   At 200 to 300 meters, if it actually hits, and if you actually have someone to help keep the enemy from rushing you dead, it IS a fun tank, as the 1s would obviously be.   In a public match where you have people KIND of on your flanks it is certainly potentially quite good, but, I have come to like higher penetrating, more frequent firing tanks as I play solo most of the time.

I love this tank!

I didn't have a French tank for, uh, 90% of my total WoT playtime. I saw my friend play as with a D2 and a ARL44 and thought I could give it a try.

D2 was boss, B1 is like, the worst. But the BDR beast, man, its a beast!

As a very turtle-like TD player, I am hardly a front line player, and this tank excels at 2nd line support. 3 hits with the 90mm to kill any tier 5 (or lower) tank? Yes please! Its pretty much a heavy TD with okay accuracy and reload. Another random plus, it is surprising bouncy when fighting on tier or lower medium and light tanks, and the side armor is double spaced.

I will never sell mine! I still need to put camo on it...

Yep love my buttergib as well it is a lot of fun to play.  I don't have too many total played battles but I have close to 200 on my BDR with around a 62% win rate on it.  Always laugh when I hear people talking crap about the BDR before the game gets going, it's fun to prove them wrong.

Best Tier V heavy definetly, better than KV-1...
but the view range is horrible. Its the weak side of him, worse than its armor/hatch i think,

Moved on to the ARL but bought a new 75% crew for my BDR, refused to sell it. Just too good for tier 5. It's really dependent on your team to spot for targets, but man, when they do, you can absolutely ruin tanks at or below your tier while still pinging T6 and 7 for good damage.

Nah, it's utter garbage. Probably the worst T5 Heavy, one of the poorer T5 tanks overall.
I rejoice when I see them on the other team.

Slow, bad turning, giant profile, no armor whatsoever, camo isn't good.... All it has is the gun, and the gun
isn't awesome either - low RoF, mediocre accuracy, long aimtime.... All the gun has is good pen and alpha,
really.

If you want the gun, just get the S35 instead. It's a way better platform for it.

But really, the best gun for the S35 is the 17 pounder, anyway.

In any case, there isn't any reason to not use the BDR if you like it, just don;t get deluded and start thinking it isn't crap.

Yes the BDR is a fun tank to play, once you get it fully upgraded, but until then its a real challenge to play.

Get annoyed by the 90mm? Try 75mm. Thats what I did and now the tank is a keeper
It is the second fastest (or tied for second) heavy of its tier.
You are still a heavy, so it shouldn't be hard to see or maneuverable.
90mm has the second highest alpha (not including DERPS or arty) of its tier, only being beaten by the S35 CA's 105mm
130mm of pen is average for its tier and type
mediocre accuracy an long aimtime seem to affect the 90mm only
75mm has crazy DPM (220.1 more DPM than the 90mm)
You just don't know how BDR works then, for it actually caries the traits of later french heavies, just with out the speed or clip (though the 90mm's reload kinda prepares you for it)

My BDR is my best and most favorite tank. I will NEVER give it up. As for my M7, maybe. But the BDR is my true 10/10 tank for life.

Oh, and also, when I used the comparement for tanks on WoT, most statistics for the BDR proved better then the KV-1 with matching equipment for EXP gain, to be sure it was even. KV-1 looks nice, but BDR beats it.

I really, really enjoyed the BDR. But hard to say my fav. tier 5 heavy, since the Chruchill I is really fun now, and have some other favs. But I loved the best cannon on it, and hate when people say it sucks. You just can't use its armor like the KV-1, that's all.

Mutant football LOL

BDR G1B best teir 5 medium (the project char G1 was for a medium) but as a heavey its not exactly perfect still one of the best teir 5s in game and probably the best after the PZ4 and the old KV
