Ok I've read a lot about people loving the Wolverine, and I do enjoy playing mine but I can't figure out which gun to and ammo combo to use.  Right now I'm using the 76mm M1A2 w/  HE M48 rounds  don't seem to be having the best results with it.  Looking for help

P.S. witch is the way to go with my next tank the Jackson or the Hellcat?

76 with AP.  If you're using HE you're doing it wrong.

Hellcat for sure and I would say the 76 with ap because the HE on it is almost useless

heres how effective my Hellcat is.....

Jackson plays like, some have said, a "Jumbo Sherman with a 90mm." Good frontal plate and decent speed. The hellcat is more of a shoot n scoot, fire n run type of tank. It won't survive a 1v1 with anything other than a piece of dumb arty.

With that said, it all comes down to playstyle and the tanks you want AFTER you get these. Hellcat leads to turreted TDs while jackson leads to the monster TDs like T28/T95.

105 mm with HEAT.

not even a contest.

P.S. Get Hellcat and stop there. Because it doesn't get any better than that. If you want a great Tier VII TD, get JagdPanther.

Hellcat definetly. It's an amazing tank. It also happens to be famous. If you want to shoot fast, stay where you are. You won't pen every time  but if you  aim for sides and rear you'll do some damage. Plus you fire twice as fast as most tanks. Just watch out for arty in both tanks.  :arta:

I should have added that I don't spend real money on this game, so if that has any effect on the choices I should make?  Thanks for the help so far.

well first off go 76 with AP rounds why oh why are you using HE as your main?
second it depends upon playstyle go for the line not the nest tank for example both of the next tanks are similar but down the line the hellcat has a turreted td line with abit less armor and not as good of a gun but some people like the mobility while the jackson leads into no turret a true td with lots of armor but if not played correctly its punishing however they do tons of damage and are slow.

personally i went jackson i currently have a t28 as my main tank in the game and love it but you have to like what your playing because if not the slow speed of it will start to get to you. even when i was at teir 1 i never picked tanks according to the teir 4 or 5 tank in the line i did research and found out what my playstyle is then i looked for a good teir 10 i liked from that i chose my line and it has served me well

Tiaagoo had the same gun question for the Wolverine a while ago, and what did he find?
The 105 derp is the best gun for the Wolverine presently, not the 76mm gun.  Why? Damage per Minute is higher, using HE & HEAT ammunition with the 105 derp gun.

In essence, a strong argument can be made that the Wolverine is a better derp'er than the M4 Sherman with the 105mm gun is.
Why? Wolverine has a superior rate of fire, accuracy, and aim time.

Of course the next patch (8.6) is likely to bring changes to the Wolverine's derp gun.

One only has to look at my stats with the Wolverine and M4 to see that. My WR with the Wolverine is between 56 and 58%. My WR with the M4 is maybe 47% at best. But some of that may be do to MM and my playing the M4 too aggressively.

I would use the 76mm M1A2 on it as you're a TD.  I've used both and have an M4 with the 105, but while the specs on the Wolv. version is better, the platform doesn't lend itself to using it as well as a M4.  You've got low HPs and can be 1 shot by any other 105 derp.  You're sluggish and can't play peek a boo as well as other mediums.  The M1A2 has very high DPM of 2231 and the 105 only beat it if shooting all gold ammo.

I tried the 105 in the Wolverine a while back and found that I just did not like it or do well with it.  The 105 itself may be slightly better in the Wolverine than the M4 but the M4 is a much better platform for the 105, IMO.  Sure, once in a while I had a great game with the 105 but I was much more consistently good with the 76mm.

The M1A1 with AP/APCR is the way to go, especially with the loooong overdue nerf to 105 derp pen.  The Hellcat and Jackson get the same end gun, the 90mm, so it's a question of choice:  run and gun with decent stealth, or slightly more armor, taller, and slower.  Also end-game considerations may come into play (turreted vs. casemate), unless you do like me and stop at the Hellcat/Jackson (I like the M18, personally).

use ap with the M1A2 and snipe, i have got 7 kills with the wolverine, i went jackson and love it, it has the right combo of armour, mobility, and speed to fight a SU-100Y, Churchill III, and have an arty falling on you
(i won, 1 vs. 3) 6 kills, 90mm finger of god

I decided to use the derp on it mostly for a change of pace since I am so used to using the m1a1 on the t49.

It worked out really well.

Spoiler

The average exp is pretty low but it is a free account.

Edit: Both the Jackson and the Hellcat are fun so either one (or both) is a decent choice.

The m1a2 the M10 gets is a little better than the m1a1 you might have already used (and is used on the t49).

I know I'm late, but I prefer to m1a1 instead of the m1a2. Faster rate of fire for a bit less accuracy. The accuracy doesn't seem to help much with a 100% crew.

Um...The M1A2 is .38 accuracy vs .41 on M1A1 and fires an extra round and a half a minute. What are you talking about?

Never, go full retard.

Use AP rounds in that thing and pound your opposition to death with it's great rate of fire. Add a rammer, camo net and Binoculars - you can sit hidden and cover a very large area with your view range and turret traverse being a big credit to your team.

I tend to shake my head at those who put a 105mm on it, the M10 is much too fragile and slow to be doing mid/close range derp work.

Derps are not just for close range. They make excellent long range support weapons too. Because of the way they work, they actually tend to have great accuracy and will punish anyone who sits still for the couple seconds it takes the shell to get to them.

At tier 5 it's also a fearsome weapon since most tanks tier 5 and down have light armor and even a normally scary adversary like the Hellcat is very vulnerable to the HE shells of howitzers.

I've gotten top gun medals with both guns so it really comes down the individual pros and cons of the guns; the 76mm has ROF, the 105 can damage all and crits like you can't believe but takes much longer to reload and has fewer shells.
