T34 Gun Inconsistent?

I will first admit Im fairly new to the T34, I just bought it in that $100 military appreciation month package since I felt it was a pretty good deal and have been planing to go down the Amer heavy line soon (So having it for crew training would be lovely) I have experience with German heavies (E75) as well as Russian(KV-3), French (50 100) and British (Caernarvon) Heavies.... and I have a Super Pershing (My only real American experience)
But I'm currently torn on it, Im struggling to -win- matches in it... The gun is great sure, but my problem is the gun seems to be massively inconsistent... Im having games where I've fired 10 shots into things, had 9 hits and 2 penetrations (For no damage)... I think the most absurd it got was bouncing 2 shots in a row on the perfectly flat side of an AMX M4 1945... Definitely made me go a bit o_O...
I try to stay mid range or so, As i dont feel the T34 is a "front line" heavy due to the weak hull armor, I try to stay hull down when possible though Im still working out spots where that works well (A bit different than the Jagd 88 and Caernarvon, both like being hll down to hide weaknesses)
I guess what im asking is if the gun is inconsistent in general or if im just having a very bad RNG streak... OR if im simply having lousy teams... I've struggled to get a 46.4% win rate after 97 battles in it

You aren't the first to complain about the gun on the T34.
Hated mine...shells just randomly went in every direction and those zero damage pens were an epidemic.
Oh and once I bounced off the rear of an AMX 13-75...beat that
I was so angry I almost decided to stop playing all together.

I love my T34, having said that, yes, for me that does seem to be a problem. I have been doing really well in my T29 lately, yet still have issues with my T34, mostly the randomly bouncing shots and 0 damage pens as you have mentioned.
Edit 1: O.o why does it say I have 0 battles....
Edit 2: Nvm, now it shows correctly, weird...

My highly trained crew split between it and my 110 have made it quite the effective weapon. Its gun will treat you about the same as the BL9 random phantom fires that couldn't have missed somehow don't even bounce. It is best mid to close range for the gun just do your best to hide your hull.
The biggest failing I see in most VIII premium heavy drivers they take up space while reloading. Lowes an T34s will blow their load and rather than GTFO of the way will just go ahead and reposition for the next shot. This usually kills your teams opporunity to help since you're in the way and then you die most of the time being either a road block or cover for the enemy since you jacked the only good firing position.
