I don't know how its really possible to lose money on this tank, unless you just shoot out ammo without actually hitting anything. It's not the best money maker in the game with such expensive shells but it does not struggle to break even.
agreed.
If i take my IS-3 or IS-4 and shoot and bounce 10-14 times in a round, im gonna have huge ammo costs and little income due to that.
your playing with the big boys, and the big boys get huge ammo costs. every shot I hope counts. That or nerf your gun down a level and use the cheapy one , you sure have the speed to use it correctly.

Yes I drive a T54. I voted no as it is a tier 9 tank and I still make money on it. It's not an SPG but I still make SOME money.

I voted no as well and I drive a T54 also. I make enough money to keep it running, but I use my T34 to actually make money to buy other tanks. It is a T9 tank. It should never be a primary farming tank.

No, imo the costs are fine.
I make more "profit" with the T54 than i used to with the T44 , i think..
But the ammo is
250
250
1250
So i use the middle stuff.
If they ever balanced the ammo out a bit more. things might be different, 1250 a shot would eat the profit margin up in a lot of games.
Especially with 20 shots fired, that's 20k difference.

I've had a couple really bad games running the large gun where I lost 10k+ credits in one match. That said, I usually have very little trouble making a profit of some kind, though it is very rarely more than 10-15k per match. Generally, don't suicide rush, and don't take more than one or two chancy shots.

A definite no - I have a Jagdpanther (Tier VII !) and I make more money if I get killed and my team wins then when I'm "top gun" due to the horrendous ammo cost. As tiers go up, it's supposed to get more and more difficult to support the tank.
It forces people to still play lower tier tanks after getting high up.

Me and lathieza were driving together and got similar stats. He lost 3k credits in his t54 while i made close to 30k in my t44. Shooting the same targets with similar amount of shells hit.
Edit; And yes, he has premium and elite t54.
Edit; And yes, he has premium and elite t54.
This makes sense.
1) First of all with him being Tier 9, gets less credits and experience for the same targets your shooting at. There is a pretty large diminishing return system here.
2) If he was using the top gun, then he is spending about 750 credits more per shell than you.
3) Repair cost obviously is going to be much higher on the T-54.
So for example. You killing a Tiger may result in 300 exp and 10k credits. Him shooting a Tiger results in 100 exp and 3k credits due to the Tier difference. Then you kill a IS-4 and get 500 exp and 20k credits (for being higher tiered than you). He kills a IS-4 and gets 200 exp and 5k credits (for being equal teired).
In this result you are at 800 exp and 30k credits and he is at 300 exp and 8k credits despite the exact same stats because basically your contribution to the battle was much higher than his due to the Tier difference on the kills. Now this obviously isn't accurate numbers but it does illustrate the point that even doing the same thing, there could be a huge difference in rewards.

The Jgpanter 105mm ammo costs 1030 88mm 250.
T54 d54 has more pen And it is a tier 9 device. So 1.25k a shell makes sence.
The lb-1 ammo cost is the same as 88L/71.
The guns on T54 and Jgpanter are pretty even. And the ammo cost is almost the same.
No need to put the price down everything is good as it is.

I find with the LB-1 that I either profit for make a slight 1-2k loss. But I'm always in a platoon so that might have affected the results.

Using the LB-1 I've been breaking even at worst. I usually make more money than I made in my T44.

Using the LB-1 you can make tons of money even if you lose, if your team has someone else to engage enemy top heavies; if that duty falls on you you will cry for D-54.

On average ive made 6 to 6.5k money per match during hundreds of battles with D54. That makes millions in long run and im getting near to 2 million made with this gun.

All high tier tanks are like this; in fact, I believe the German tree stop making money from Tiger/Panther.

In my opinion, no tank above tier 7 should generate a profit and tier 9 and 10's should run at a consistent loss, win or lose. The top level tanks should be for fun only, if they ran at consistent losses there wouldn't be so many top-heavy high tier battles happening. It's good that we have the super-heavy fantasy/post-war tanks, but playing WW2 era battles which field over half the team of them is just a touch ridiculous. I don't recall there being any vk45/maus or IS-4/7 heavy armor divisions in WW2 but looking at the way top end battles are you would think that they were the core of each nations fighting force.

Had a game where I got top gun and sniper achievements, with 15 shots fired and 15 hits, experience 1,073, credits 25,648, repair cost 13,878, ammo cost 17,970. when I have a good match and plenty of kills I usually lose money, if I camp, simply plink at targets and our team wins, I make money but not much. With my Sherman I make money win or lose, since I have plenty of extra cash I really don't mind and even get the extras to play with, considering the soft wipe is around the corner. However if I'm gonna be spending real cash on this game afterward, then I do have an issue, guess we'll see if I keep playing....

As others have said, with my elite T-54 (premium account) a lose costs me thousands and a win makes me about 5k. That's it.

This is quiet possibly the most ignorant post I have seen on this forum. And thats saying something. Learn a bit of history before you make more of a fool of yourself. Considering that the Centurion, in various marks, saw combat into the 70s and early 80s.....
