Let's talk about XVM, you know the highly inaccurate POS mod that players use to belittle other players while in game. This ammounts to NOTHING short of abuse. XVM counts capture points to give an rating. You play a tank that often does not cap, you miss out. XVM further counts defense points to add to that rating. Again, you can miss out.  What XVM does NOT do is calculate the other 14 members of your team You can have a great game, master gunner, sniper, top gun and still lose, you can miss out. In short, if you do not platoon, and play alot of public matches, made mistakes early on when first playing, YOU ARE SCREWED. You can hear it every effing day. Day in and day out. It is abuse, and it is getting old. I have spent quite a bit of money playing this game only to read during a game, so and so is a bad player. REALLY ???  I would not tolerate that in person, I do not now. I have left the battle in order to avoid being distracted  by this; whether directed at me or another player. That type of verbal abuse is NO PART of the game. I long for an option to "turn off" in game chat. or better yet BAN this mod.
Now I FULLY realise that the trolls and other smart rectums will no doubt have a field day with this post. I could seriously not give a flying eff. I encourage the Devs or their designees to sneak into games under disguise and see for yourselves. To add to the realism make up a name with a  ( according to XVM) crappy rating.

I choose to not use XVM because ignorance is bliss.

I only know my bad stats At any given time, I don't want to know if someone else shares them with me.

Don't remember when exactly it happened, but the mechanic used for XVM has been adjusted so that base cap and defense points aren't as heavily weighted in the system. Also, the main purpose of XVM is to see who on the enemy team is most dangerous and how much you can afford to rely on your teammates, not to belittle them.

If you really longed for a way to turn off chat and you were moderately familiar with the game you'd probably be able to find the mod to disable the in-game chat.

Edit: oh, and I don't use XVM, and I tend not to verbally abuse people in the game, just for the record.

You can pick up that mod at your general store. It's under the name Post-it Note

Well you are very misinformed. But that is ok cause you don't care... or do you?

Anyway - In an average tier 8 and higher match I would bet that 30 - 50 % of the players are using XVM including myself. In 1 out of 10 matches do I see stat bashing. Normally this happens when a 46%er starts telling everyone how dumb - tarded - or that the whole team is full of noobs. This normally happens after they die.  

Maybe 1 - 20 matches and that is a BIG maybe do I see real baddie trashing. In reality it is usually the baddies that are ranting up a storm.

XVM is a great tool. I look for people that I know understand the game enough to support me - and don't expect much from the 46%er and less with over 8,000 games. Not saying that they can't have a great battle or do good - It is just rare.

Oh and I am not saying I am great at this game at all. Just an average player trying to get better.

OP...first get educated on the topic. XVM hasn't used the old efficiency rating for quite some time and the stats it provides are pretty consistent. As it is, I use it without the win indicator and as a tool it shows me the new efficiency rating and some other info that certainly indicates the consistency of the players and helps me determine on whom I can most likely rely and those I need to prioritize on the other team. I don't share it with others as I fight to the bitter end and don't want to know the odds, but I do find that many of the players that want to talk smack or insult other players usually have bad stats themselves and then I'll throw their stats in their face to shut them up.

Otherwise, I use chat because it can be useful but I right click and ignore anyone who's an asshat so I can't see their crap anymore. It works quite well and I rarely have issues.

btw: more bad news for you OP. WG is looking to possibly implement xvm into the game client so everyone can have it.
