I notice that WoT is bigger on other games copying them or using of name and or ideas.  I have worked with Coke-cola for 5 1/2 years now and notice that they too are big on the same infringements so i asked one of are upper management exc. if they knew anything about WoT and coke  and showed him one of the videos WoT put out with the voice actor saying using Coke-cola and the color of the icon is red with white  He knew nothing of it ..so i ask anyone does Coke get paid for use of there name on the game?

Coca-Cola cannot bring action against the generic name cola. It's Coke that gets the trademark treatment, since it was registered in the United States since March 27, 1944.

Case of Cola does not mean Coca~Cola.

Where you may have a point is the players who name themselves after famous brands.

Suppose a guy calls himself "Coca_Cola" and starts making death threats in game.... this could bring trouble to WG.
I guess they filter these names out so it cant happen. They would be really stupid not to.

Pretty sure this is why the "Case of Coke" was changed to "Case of Cola" after beta. Sure it's obvious it's patterned after Coke, but it's not Coke.

Though why Coke would ever be angry about them using it I don't know, it's some of the best free advertisement possible. Drinking Coke in game literally made your crew perform better at everything they did.

The similarity to the copyrighted logo could bring some issues, but it's unlikely.

Mostly because it's simply "Cola" in white on a red background, in italics, and doesn't really look like the Coca Cola logo.

Your spelling and grammar are appaling.

Are you trolling? It certainly seems that way.

If I were an W.O.T Executive I would just perma-ban you for instigating "whistle-blowing" on such a serious matter as copyrighting with no conclusive evidence.

Provide proof of your allegation!!!

Keep in mind that "Coke" is only a general reference to the product of Coca-cola which can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coca-Cola

WG is removing these inscriptions from the game in patch 0.8.6: "Popeye", "Mickey Mouse", "Betty Boop"

So yeah, they take copyright issues seriously which is why the Case of Cola in game is not called Case of Coke.

Stocking soda at the local 7-11 doesn't count as working for "Coke-cola", whatever the frack that is...

well a case of Coke would be historically accurate as coke did donate large sums of the drink for the people on the front on almost every major conflict....

from coke's website  (http://heritage.coca-cola.com/ Page 1943 )
Spoiler

coke has always had brilliant marketing methods and this was a massive boon for the company...

Any abbreviation should always be accompanied by the word "an" and not "a".

Check out number 7 in this link and see why the word an was used in front of W.O.T

Ok so for the people that asked for proof These are Wargamming Trainning videos. Not mine  And for the ones that want better grammar  Make a post about rather then ride someone else's coat tails. If you have problem's reading what i type to the point you don't understand the post i have made. Ask a grown up.  I don't have the time for you.

I'm not trying to make problems's rather fix what Wargamming holds strong to there eula.  They have made issues with other gaming company's and shut down anything that looks like a WoT

Please watch the video @ 2:00 mark

http://youtu.be/5ML4oXjG6ag?t=2m1s

What i'm trying to understand if Wargamming asking permission from Coca cola to use there logo and name there drink as a pay to use item on WoT

What you're failing to understand is that there is no longer any mention of Coca-Cola in the game. If you look at the case of cola that flashes up in that vid, that's all it says it is, a case of cola. The announcer screwed up and said Coca-Cola. Perhaps that was a personal slip up that editors missed (remember, pretty much everyone that worked on those vids lives outside the US and that announces mispronounces things regularly in the videos he does) or perhaps he was reading from a script prepared before the item was changed.

As an aside, I cannot quite gerrit why Forum responders are almost as a rule foul mouthed and coarse and uncouth. It hardly matters whether the OP has just made a valid point or not; a gang of insult-spitting, rude-trolling, gang-bangers will come out of the woodwork and rain non-contributing BS upon the thread. Tut-tut-tut! For all who're in this category, listen, you guys need help fast. Therapy or God will do just fine, but try something.
