Small rant here: This thing shouldn't be able to one-shot kill anything at tier 2. Carry on.

Addendum: It shouldn't be able to one-shot SNIPE someone from 300 meters while the target is moving.

Although it is OP, I don't think its unfair it can one hit anything there are a few tiers where some tanks mount such large guns they can one hit stuff (tier 3 m2 medium) tier 6 (kv-2)

the t18 is the best tier 2 td and is only op due to new players at tier 2 skilled players learn to circle this tank easily

Don't - face hug a T18

Do - flank him.... if he moves to follow you then it will take forever for him to aim down on you.

No, it doesn't need to be changed at all... Don't park in front of it at short range! The gun isn't accurate at any sort of long distance, and the T18 can be circled without mercy by many tier 2 light tanks, or track it and move to the side. I take them out with my PZJG1 at long range easily, where the 75mm can't hit the "broad side of a barn" literally.

Even the MS-1 and LTraktor can pen its armor, especially through the spot beside the gun, or the upper front, which is quite thin at 16mm... Only the front of the crew compartment is the thick armor, and the 75mm is really only awesome close up. Many ways to beat this thing.

Too funny... everyone complains about tier 5 M4's and Pz4, etc. being able to one shot something at tier 4 and that the HEAT ammo is too OP, but the T18 gets defended with the same ability at a lower tier. Every argument made to defend the T18 can be made to defend the higher tiered derps as well but instead WG gives in to the whiners. WG needs to be consistent in this. If they are going to nerf the derps, then do all of them. If not, then leave them all alone.

Keep in mind the AT-2 has this ability as well...

However, I must admit the T18's combination of 1-shotting everything, being very mobile, and having thick frontal armor is a bit much at tier 2. It's one of three tanks to have earned me a 10 kill game, and that was the only one to do so in a team carry match [the other two I had amble support and the 10 kills was incidental...in the T18 match I was essentially alone and had to carry the game]. Heck, I'm averaging a Top Gun every 12 battles, and have had numerous 4-5 kill games.

The thing is sickeningly good...

Everyone here who voted no is a T18 owner.  The SU-26 is supposedly losing it's 122mm gun.  Why?  Becasue it outperforms its counterparts.  So does the T18.  It's not just the gun, it has outstanding armor, too.

What represents a greater threat to you while your driving a tier 2 tank?  A T18, a Panzerjaeger 1, or an AT whateverits called?  The answer is obvious.

I personally voted no on this for a reason. I have played at teir 2 before and I find it very easy to kill a t18 by just flanking it. Seriously people need to stop bitching.

I find the same thing.  But with other tier 2 TDs, it requires 0 effort to kill them.  I can hit them from any position, from any range.  I just aim center mass.  But for new player, the T18 is a monster.  I remember testing out my friend's T18 and getting the Kolobanovs medal in it.  Theres hardly any challenge.

It isn't about the gun. It's about the speed and trollish frontal armor. I see people talking about the AT-1 and PzJg1. When was the last time you bounced a shot off the front of one of those?

Newbies need this tank to be a little OP (and ti is just a little) so they understand they can't shoot at the front of everything and not expect some return fire.

It also teaches them that there are places other than the front that you can shoot at, which requires a new concept called moving.

I remember my newbie days well, and am still recovering from some of the stupidity I had.

I can deal with the T18 with 75mm in my T-26, if I am careful, and if I see him first.  It is a better tank than the T-26, but not so much it is hopeless.  Without gold ammo and not being close enough to aim for weak spots, about half of the 45mm frontal hits penetrate, on average.  With gold, or closer, things are somewhat better, but of course nose-to-nose slug-outs are to be avoided.

Now, what needs to get nerfed is the stinkin' Panzer IC with the death-ray laser!

Maybe use this thing called strategy? Not just sitting in front of it?

t18 has great strengths (derp, frontal armor, speed) but at the same time great weakness (turns like a brick, side/rear have no armor at all and has one of the worst view range of the game), tank itself is no that op vs players that can exploit those weakness, wich unfortunately is not the case of most  t1-3 players

so not a nerf i would go for a trade:

remove the 75mm but in exchange add 10mm armor to front and 10mm to the sides

that would be an interesting trade off to teach people the use of weakspots without the intant death if they fail to do it.
