You will soon see that the Japanese actually have more available than Italy. But I am still in full support of an Italian tech tree.

So excited to see Japanses tanks!

And as for italian tanks, I believe WG had plans for the distant future to release a pan-european tech tree that will include Italian tanks.  I think they said they couldnt find enough Italian tanks to make a tech tree soley based on that nation.

Well damn. Now people can't say there aren't enough tanks to fill out a basic tree. Just need arty.

Shouldn't the Tier 10 heavy be listed as the vehicle with the 140mm naval gun (O-140 perhaps?), because it might not be related to the O-I?

Also, what if the Type 97 Te-Ke was put at tier 2 in the light tank line, to make the LT line to go tier 8?

Names can change later and if deemed necessary. I'll keep that 140 in mind.

The Ha Go might be hard pressed to make due at tier 3. Likewise, tier 6 would be too much for the Ke Ho.

I'm just going to guess the Ha-Go can mount the 37mm Type 1, which has 52mm pen at 250m, and the Ke-Ho could possibly mount this experimental 57mm gun:

The medium line are true medium tanks starting from tier 2 straight down to tier 10.

Im currently posting from my iPhone and it sucks in linking. Once I get to my computer, I'll link up the 4 or 5 articles currently available, mostly done by Daigensui....the Iwakuro, Chi Nu Kai, Na To, and I think there is a good Chi To post somewhere. Type 95 too. And a Ho Ri post from me.

I eagerly await what you'll write in article format although personally Daigensui's tech tree, while great, I still don't entirely agree with her TD line, I don't see why we should have the Ka-To prototype when we have the Chi-Ri II based TDs available.

Because

1. WG are not really considering those particular TDs.
2. I don't like those TDs.

not necessarily true.
first, the reason they went into ww2 was the fact that as a fairly small island nation they didnt have much resources. and they still import a lot of oil and steel today. guess what you need a lot of to make tanks? (and ships, and guns... and some parts of airplanes)

second, at the time, the imperial army envisioned the battles it was to fight they where mainly infantry and cavalry (horse).
in that type of battle even a single crappy tank can wreck untold havoc on such targets.
when preparing for the island campaigns, they believed the US could only bring a few tanks on shore and that their anti-tank guns would have been enough.

Actually...you're wrong.

Japanese were heavily into tanks, it was just that resources were allocated to the Navy first and so it would take a few years for a design to hit production.

Any idea when Japanese tanks are coming out? Wonder what WG's tech tree is like. Also, where are Japanese artillery?

The earliest, December 2013. I'll add in an arty line but it will be by no means set in store. More like just food for thought.

Updates with 9 tanks linked. Now that does not mean 9 articles/posts link. Some of the posts concern two tanks like the Ho Ri TDs and the STA/Type 61.

Remember, like the post war Germans, the JSDF developed a few non Main Battle Tanks designs in the 1950's and 1960's that could fit in like the India-Panzer and Leopard 1. I don't remember their Type numbers, but one of them was just phased out in the 1990's.
