I really look forward to future introduction of Havok game engine for its better destruction effect. However, does it make game more laggy? If so, how much?

I'd like to know more about this Havok Engine thing, where did you find it and.... uh... what exactly will it do?

Source is on FTR somewhere, AFAIK Havok will be introduced in the distant future.

- SerB can't promise, what the number of HAVOK patch will look like, whether it will be one of the 0.8.X series, or 0.9
- dynamic collision model will come hand in hand with its visual respresentation (SS: As an example, if a part of original hitbox "falls off" using Havok (for example a piece of box, or external tanks), the hitbox will change too"

^ This. SerB estimated it would be somewhere along 8.X or 9.0.

Quote

- players will be able to switch the client physics (havok) off, it won't increase the size of the client, it will contain realistic destruction of objects and buildings, the independent suspension (each wheel reacts to the surface realistically) and small objects on the tank (antennae, boxes) behaving according to physics

Havok is client-side physics.  Devs have been talking about it for a long time.

speaking of physics has anyone else realized sparks flying out of tanks now when you're hit or is it just me?

Pretty sure the sparks only show when you hit by HEAT.

From what i have read it will make use of another processor (WoT currently only uses one, thats why so many people call for multi-core support), so it really shouldn't have that big an impact if you have a spare processor to spare.

It was announced a couple months ago by WG that they would be incorporating the havok engine into WoT.
