Recently I got my KV-1. I'm trying to decide between these 2 tanks. I have more experience in mediums (I have the T-43) and not as much experience in heavies. Which one?
KV-1S or T-150?

Well I hear the T-150 is the easier grind, but the KV-1S with the long 122mm is SO much fun. And the 1S is really a medium labeled as a heavy, because it is actully quite fast for a heavy, but you're not as heavily armored as the T-150.
So it depends on what you want, fast, lighty armored tank with a massive gun, or a slow heavily armored tank with a good gun.

I prefer the T-150.
Though it depends on you, really.
1s - Medium Tank (Even though it's classified as a heavy), It goes off it's speed and bouncy armour. The gun is good but it has a HORRID reload and not so great accuracy/pen (122). It takes the least skill to play IMO.
150 - Pure Heavy. It goes off alpha armour and it's angeling. The gun is pretty good all round. It has good alpha, good pen, decent accuracy. It takes a little more skill I would say, due to the fact it's horrid until you max it out.

The kv1s is usually better, wonderful gun, nice armor, and decent speed. Aslong as you take time to aim you will do great. Kv1s ar also always high in demand in tcs.

I elited my KV1 so I could decide later :p
I ended up going KV1-S and the early part of the grind was painful. But most stock tanks are pretty painful anyway. I have enjoyed the KV1S, and use it in medium tank company battles, as well as soloing. I also enjoy the Tier 7 IS, but probably won't keep it, and instead will move that crew into the IS-3 when I get it.
I am considering going the KV-13 route over to the Russian Medium line, different friends have told me that it's not really an efficient way of getting deep into the russian medium line - unless you're already there, but that the KV-13 was a fun tank for them.

I am amused that you consider the KV-1S to have not so great pen (175), while labeling the T-150 as having good pen (167). Also the accuracy is similar, with KV-1S at 0.46 and T-150 at 0.45. This is assuming you are using the 122 mm D-2-5T and the 107 mm ZiS-6, which you should be.

If you're more accustomed to playing Mediums, go with the 1S. Much more mobile than the 150.

Research and play them both and you decide. I prefer the KV-1s and keep it in my garage to play (I don't play TC's), but the T-150 is a capable tank and leads to the KV-3 which is one of my favorites.

Both are strong tanks. KV-1S is more popular due to its speed and derpy 122mm cannon, making it a fairly effective peek-a-boom tank or assault weapon. T-150 is slower (although it still moves pretty well for its class) and packs a gun with less wallop but better DPM and accuracy as well as more armor to shoot it from, so it excels at holding a line if you play it right. Both tanks are capable of in-yo-face smashmouth tanking in the right situation, but the 1S tends to be used more often in that role.

Bad advice is bad.
T-150 goes off alpha? The 1S has a much bigger alpha strike than the 150.
Also, though the 1S has a long reload it is quite mobile, allowing you to duck and dodge between shots.

The KV-1S is a very different tank with the 85 mm than the 122 mm D-2-5T. If you still have your KV-1S, I'd suggest giving it a try to see if you like it.

I think he meant alpha in terms of "it's more durable," not "it does more damage."

KV-1S all the way. I had KV-3 when it was tier 6 it was great until T-150 replaced it. Never liked T-150 i loved KV-3 and KV-1S over that junk.

KV-1S and watch the tiny tanks run from you instead of around you. You could even go arty hunting occasionally and one some of them. It's a little unique to play with the top gun where the T-150 is a standard heavy. Pretty good for that, but fairly generic.

Making your choice should be about style of play, not on someones opinion of which is better. You must make the choice.
Happy Tanking
