lgfrbcsgo's Improved Lighting Mod

This Mod changes the lighting completely (for more details check out the screenshots below).

In this early stage there are only a few map featured, but stay tuned for more coming in the near future.

This mod is based on my original over 10000 times downloaded Improved Lighting Mod, that was also featured in many mod packs.

only 4 maps ATM, but more is comming soon!

Due to being limited to only a few images per post I can not update this thread anymore. So please head over to the european forum for future updates and screenshots. Thanks for your understanding

I am planning to edit the other maps too, but at the moment I am short of time. Any idea which map I should edit next, maybe Live Oaks?

Regards.

How did you make changes to the files without unpacking them?

I don't know dude all the maps look so dark in my opinion. If you can edit 1 by 1 with the time would be great.

I swapped some of the files from res\packages. I tried to edit them, but Notepad++ and the other editors didn't work for me. What do you mean with unpacking them? I used 7zip to extract the files from the map archives. Maybe you can say me, how to edit them  :teethhappy:
Would be really nice to know, how to edit them, since it would help me to improove the lighting even more.

Regards.

After playing for a few years now, it's sad to see that a member had to produce this. However, you did a pretty damn good job at it. It's something we've needed for a long time, as it adds to the game... Thank you! I look forward to seeing more. Understandable it might take a while, but hey, at least it's getting done!

Can't wait to test them out! :)

Download wottools binary from this git. That program will convert the files into a readable format from their current compact binary format. XMLs are bloated so BW provides a tool to compress them which speeds up load times and introduces some obfuscation to prevent most users from messing them up. You have any questions about the skyboxes, shaders, whatever, send me a pm.

I added new versions of the maps Murovanka and Widepark, which are using the original skyboxes.
I changed some settings in the .XML files.
Special thanks to misscleo.

New maps are comming soon. Any map wishes?

Regards.

Version 2.2 is now released, enjoy it
I reworked Murovanka once again, you can find the previous version of Murovanka in my "pre 0.8.6 lighting" mod pack.

Which map needs to be reworked most? Which one you want to see reworked? The most often called map will be uploaded in its reworked version next weekend. I'm thinking of creating a poll.

Cliff can be a tad dark. Any way to find another site for hosting these? That one is pretty sketch (in my opinion).

I'll put Cliff on my todo list, together with some desert maps, someone proposed on EU thread.
Whats wrong with the google drive? Already changed it from mediafire to google, since google allows me to link directly to the files.

Regards.

Google drive is fine, but the middleman to get there is sketchy. And can't only people with @gmails access it?

I tried it on my second computer (never logged in to google drive with it) and everything went fine, didn't have to log in to google. Only my iPad needs to be logged in, but I don't know why.
Well I am using adf.ly to track some stats and to be honest to get some money (340clicks made me 0.44$... not that much).

Regards.
