I'm just curious what everybody else thinks is the best tier 5 tank destroyer.
Though i haven't played them all, i think the stug III is the best as i like to snipe as a tank destroyer.

the stug 3 which could not mount the l70 but its a great td but in the big gun part the S35 ca has them all beat with the long 90 or a at 105mm gun.

S35 CA 105mm derp

165 pen, 300 damage, or APCR 223pen 330damage.

otherwise T49

Before someone cries "turret!":

T49 have turret. Its maximum (when rotating both hull and turret) traverse is 50. Wolverine can reach 47
Stug laughs at that turrets with tiny guns and rotates at 44 with big L70 poking out of its shell.

And it is ugly with pathetic gun soft stats and laughable mobility.
Its reload and aiming time will let you destroy sooo many targets.

Best for what?

I've played them all except AT-2 and they all have their strong points. Personal favorites are T49 and SU-85.

Stug Lyfe. However back when the SU-85 could mount the 105 it was trollishly fun.

107*.
Inaccurate, horrible reload, low DPM overkill of penetration and damage. Relying on one-shot power heavily limited its usability.

SU-85 with the hilariously OP 107mm used to be the absolute best tier 5 TD, and possibly best tier 5 period.

Now it has an 85mm gun with almost the same accuracy and pen as the Stug, but with higher Alpha and slightly higher DPM.

It also has one of the best camo ratings in the game, which is important for glass cannon TDs.

I think it is slightly better overall than the Stug III, but it's really close.

Except that KV had this gun as well.
But who cared for 107 in those days when you could just one shot M6'es all day long with 152.

but bathtubs/Alpacas aren't ugly

the mobility is sub-par, but it isn't bad, it still has 9 degrees of gun depression, so you don't have to move as much.

the reload and aim time are fine, reload time allows you to fully aim in (implying you're not detected like a sub50% scrub) to deal a devastating 300damage.

also, did I mention it has 400meter view range, and a very wide gun arc? and also good camo

107mm?
Hilariously stupid high DPM for it's tier(over 2200), alpha on par with tier7-8 tanks, enough penetration to cut through tier 7 tanks like butter, middling accuracy.

It was an ambush/assault gun, much like the SU-100 with the 122mm.

The version on the SU-85 was more accurate and fired faster.

The KV had armor, and ended up in tier 9 matches.
The SU-85 had camo, low profile, mobility, and only saw tier 8 max.

For me, the best tier V TD would be the S35 CA   . Even though its horrible, the 105 has some horrific power in it. People don't know how to play, they're point of view of the S35 CA would be negative. but if you want REAL fun, StuG III.

AMX ELC

Barring that, prolly the StuG. Biggest problem with the StuG is that is has tissue paper for armor.

Because its a classified as a light tank. And i am aware that the turret has limited traverse.
