I am 72 years old and have a disability but love this game.  I have hand tremors and it is difficult to steady the mouse for aiming. I'm pretty good at spotting and fair at delivering damage but suck at finishing my engagements.  Is there a cost effective controller anybody could suggest to aid me and help me support my team better?

A 72 year old player? O_o

Wow, congrats sir. I never met anyone with a passion for this game at elder age.

Good luck on the battlefield!

hmm, have you ever tried getting a mouse that can change the dpi settings with a button. if you dont know what dpi is, its sensitivity.]
You can change the dpi setting to a lower one so big movements translate to small movements ingame.
u can get one at $30, just look for a gaming mouse.
as for a controller dedicated for disabilities....i have no idea, id try google if u dont find what you need here

have you ever looked into mice that can change their DPI on the fly. Or in other words, change their sensitivity on the fly? My mouse has an option that lets me change its sensitivity between various levels that I set myself. I've got a low sensitivity, which means that the cursor on the screen (and thus my tank gun) will move much less than normal for a given distance that I move my mouse, or I can increase sensitivity, so that the cursor moves more.
The button is on the mouse itself, so I don't know if that would be inconvenient or not. But it might allow you to decrease the mouse's sensitivity to your hand movements, and maybe that would help.
EDIT: ninja'd

Should be able to do this in 'control panel'.

Also congrats sir, glad to see other old farts out here with this old fart.  There was a thread made not to long ago where it was asked about ages and as in older ages, and it was surprising just how many of us old farts are out here enjoying or attempting to enjoy the game. Good luck to you.

The mouse I have was given to me by my grandson and it is a "AZZA" with three red lights on thbe lft. side and a little red button just behind the roller and two red buttons on the lft. side also.  I really don't know what all the buttons do.

Razer's entire product catalog is pretty good. They are all well made, very ergonomic and have plenty of fine tuning adjustments that you can make.

You make me jealous sir. I wish my grandpa played games too, but they exist in the "older" generation in which they aren't exposed to modern-like technology computers.

Also, just looked at your profile. It doesn't look like you've made it to any heavy tanks yet. It might be a bit easier to play as they require less quick movements to be effective in battle. Good luck out there.

Wow, I find it quite fascinating of how even people who are older play this game. I guess it shows you of how appealing some things are. As for being able to cope with hand tremors, lowering the mouse sensitivity might just be the way to go.

You might want to give this a try before anything else. Due to an injury, I had very bad shaking in my right arm and hand for most of last year. It was extremely frustrating when trying to eat, let alone game, so I can understand. I was put onto this by a friend, it helped me immensely, and it's free. Maybe you'll have good luck with it too: Steadymouse

some of the best quake players get their frags with a 7$ mouse.
hand comfort and an accurate sensor are the only two requirements of a mouse, and it's a lot like trying on shoes.
but besides that, a large surface area and a low sensitivity will allow you to translate more movement through your arm but if ergonomics of your space are not good this will get tiring very quickly. A joystick might work but i dont think the game has support

That steadymouse link by poster AlteredCarbon looks worth pursuing, sir.

I'd also like to echo another poster who mentioned playing heavy tanks -- I completely agree with this.  My wife is 60, and finds artillery and heavy tanks best for her - light tanks and mediums are too fast and hard to control in the first place.  Artillery in particular is a great choice for people who can think strategically but don't have the same fast hand-eye control.

Adjusting the mouse sensitivity, via the menu settings, is also a good tool -- make each mouse movement need to be bigger to knock off your aim.  I have different sensitivity settings for normal mode and for sniper zoomed in mode.

Further -- I'll echo others, it's refreshing to see a senior gentleman playing online games - and in particular I respect your desire to better help the team.  Good luck to you, and enjoy yourself.

I am only 45 years old but I use a Logiteck gaming mouse G500. It has sensitivity bottens right on the mouse that let me slow the movements of the mouse down. It lets me make slower movements of the mouse or faster if I need to and I can do it as I am playing. I some times do this if I am sniping or running a fasted scout. I dont remeber what I payed for it but was not to much.
Ohh it nice to see all ages having fun with this game. I used to play some first person shooters but as i am geting older my skill are not what they were 10 years ago. WoT is a much slower paced game most the time. This is one reason I play this game over war thunder or Would of warplanes. As games of this type go it playable for people of all ages.
