Yes, i see a difference on the suspension, on the 2 road wheels at the middle (to be precise, that part that holds them), but i cant go further than the fact that it appears to be originally from a Sherman tank...

correct

Also, it looks like it's on backwards.  Isn't the return roller supposed to be sticking out behind the suspension unit rather than forward of it?

Yep.  I imagine they were scavenged at some point, but the suspension isn't specific to the Sherman it seems.

Spoiler

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, the M3 is like weird, redheaded tomboy you knew in Elementary school.

Aren't Sherman suspension units supposed to be unhanded? (I honestly don't really know much about Shermans, this is something I'd heard/read somewhere but never really thought about much)

If I tried to give a clue and suggested you think 'German' it would be unfair - you need to go further south...... quite a bit futher

Nope, but right general latitude.

The M60 style tracks are a bit of a give-away.

Probably refers to the HVSS units fitted to the Easy 8.  The vertical volute units would have needed left and right versions, with the trailing return roller on top.  That isn't to say that they used different mounting points, just that it looks much neater to keep things looking the same on both sides.  The earlier units as fitted to the M3 Lee wouldn't have needed handing, though.

I was thinking an M60 as some sort of movie horror 'Russians are invading' super tank.
