I think it would be either a recovery vehicle, artillery tractor or a troop carrier.

I doubt its a M1 Combat Car:

1) It misses its turret/super structure
2) it misses 1 weel.

and recon tanks usually had atleast a machinegun to scare of infantry

T6 Light tank, Built 1939  top speed 30mpg   used 2x 8  Buick cylinder  engines, 19,500 lbs  and had no armaments. Only ever built the chasis.

Its sort of a missing link in most US tank history write ups :)

Odd tank, looks like they couldn't decide between an M2 medium and a Stuart, nice find.

Anyway I found this a while back and, uh, oh god what is this?

Technically a SPG, but not based on a true 'tank' chassis.

What the hell's wrong with its turret? It looks...wrong.  I'm not too good on Shermans so this one's got me stumped.

no, but it´s based on a british/russian susppension but the tank isn´t from one of this. The turret is based on the PzI turret.
