grunt, have you done a tamiya panzer II G/F model? i did one, my first tank model, and id like to see how an expert would make the kit.
http://postimg.org/g...eax0q/7c0d12cd/ this is how mine turned out... is it good? im really cheap, its sitting on a paint can lid that was covered with elmers glue and sprinkled with dirt(dirt, clay, some weird powder i found at the house they are building beside mine), and i put the dirt/sand mix in with some glue and water and make something i could paint on. diy rules!

Sorry about not posting in awhile, duty calls is my excuse.  :hiding:

Anyway, that Panzer II looks outstanding! Nice clean build with excellent paint work. I like the weathering as well.

Thank you for taking the time to link the pictures.

dose airfix models count?

I've done a lot of those.... :amazed:

Of course Airfix models count. Little SgtGrunt started out with Airfix. I still remember building an Airfix 1/72 scale Spitfire.

Please know that I like to see all scale modeling topics. Armor is just my favorite.

Attached is my latest build:
The model is a Heller 1/35th scale French AMX 13 F3 AM SPG.
Lots of fun building this one. It took some time as it is a very intricate kit, especially the gun carriage and controls, (I would recommend advanced modelers for this one).
I used my Iwata airbrush for the camo, with a little freehand brush work to outline all of it. Used mostly Tamiya and Vallejo paints, along with some Mig weathering powders.
Tanks for looking if you do.  :honoring:

My 1/16 scale Tiger II. Started with a Heng Long RC tank, removed some of the skirts, reworked the hull and added zimmerit and scratch built debris screens.

Absolutely stunning! :great:   Thank you for posting the pictures.

What did you use for the zimmerit and how did you apply it?

I have the Heng Long Pershing, (AKA Snow Leopard) sitting in the box yelling at me about having some paint applied.

I used Apoxy sculpt troweled onto the surface with a pallet knife. Then I worked the pattern in with a 1/2" wide plastic tool.

Nice pictures, love the detail on the spare road wheels and track sag. I agree with you on the individual track links from Dragon. Great stuff. Oh and, Tamiya liquid cement is your best friend with these. That and a good assembly jig.

Is that a shot of the German Late War TD's at Ft. Benning or an older picture of Ft. Knox?

Lastly, I have run into you and your T-44, it didn't end well for me.

This is awesome work.  I haven't built one in years but ever since I started playing this game I've been itching to do a Lee.

I've got a KV-1 in my garage... :smiles:

Recently I'm working on a ISU-152 which is rebuild to a early version and will get a winter wash / winter camo.
