Just for future people who might do a forum search and don't need 385 uninformative results:

The 8.8 system introduces a whole new service record view, with an efficiency scorer that people have already been using via mods for years (about time they caught up)... now if they'd just incorporate locastan's after battle stats so I don't have to worry about it screwing up my garage any more...

At any rate, my question:

WTH does the number associated with 'personal rating' mean?  Is higher better than lower?  What's the median rating, the best, the worst?  The patch notes aren't really all that clear on the matter... which is to say, there is no information provided other than 'hey, we did this.  deal with it'...  I'm not complaining, I like it and all, I just wish I knew what it meant.

Go to WoT's home page, open the "8.8 is now live" link, in the video at the top of the page, about the 4:00, 4:50 mark it explains the ratings page.

I guess this rating means something to somebody.  Earlier this week  I was running my VK36 heavy with some higher tier gamers and one of them said something to the effect of  "Noob you're red.  I asked what that meant, he said under 3-something. Then he pushed me out of cover and the enemy player blew the crap out of me.

haa haa....  that was funny

Mine is so low only because I played about 10% of my games on my ex's slow computer, thus always lagged thus couldn't really play (kids got me into it), and then about 85% of my games is from two months of testing wireless dropping issues with three different computer manufacturers and three different wireless cards (two from same manufacturer) when trying to get a new laptop.  So, only about 5% of my games are legit with me actually trying with my best.  But, good thing is I've figured out what I like and don't like, want and don't want for the most part, how to play, and I've elite'd most of my tanks etc.  So, now I can more or less kick butt.

They should have a rating system over periods, so you can see how you've improved rather than simply overall, or maybe they should have one rating for overall and one for like the last 6 months or something?  But anyway.

well if you a player with only 100 battles with a score of 1k is good; if you a player of over 10k battles and your score is 1k then you suck.
