One thing I love on this guide, is that it's not so formal that it comes off as robotic and unnatural like most of WG's copy&paste posts are.

Great article.  But it begs the question of WHY it's a hidden stat?!  This information is available to most people through online reserach, so it's not a secret.  But casual players will have no idea that it even exists.  Why punish casuals by hiding stats that are available to some?  newbies already get seal clubbed plenty, there's no reason to handicap them by hiding information from them.

Whats wrong with putting in a little effort yourself (as in showing a little more interest in the game than just pressing the "Battle " button) instead of having everything served to you on a silver platter ?

Anyways, as always a nice job done by the Chieftain.
+1 from me.

A well-done job by the chieftain explaining how RL gun elevation/depression works.

It begs the question: with all this going on, how are we to figure in things like a tank mysteriously disappearing from the game because it is too OP in the game?

What about any other nerf/buff in the game, which supposedly tries to model itself after history?   :sads:

Remember the movie Patton? When American positions camouflaged in the desert opened up on German tanks. That was beautiful.

Excellent article. Love the interior view of the tank. I'm glad I don't live in one...comfy? LOL
I love my DMax for this reason...and many of my American Tanks (and why I curse my Lowe at least once a match that I drive it).
Oh..."I WANT MY T-50-2 BACK!" (whine completed)

As I have stated several times in-game and to my friends, the Dicker Max, by virtue of being an open-topped vehicle and the placement of the gun, is the only vehicle in the game where it feels like the gun is installed upside-down, due to the fact that it's gun depression is better than it's gun elevation, a fact which I abuse the crap out of at every opportunity. You'd be surprised how bouncy that 20-30mm plate of armor that forms the casemate can be even in Tier 8 battles when properly sloped because you're just peeking over the crest of a hill shooting at enemies who thought they were safe from enemy retaliation at the bottom of said hill. That being said, those very qualities, combined with it's low HP/T ratio make the Dicker Max a pain in the rear to assault with on anything but a flat map.

Are you implying that this lovingly hand-crafted document is a copy & paste quote?

lol, some of u may heard of the Depression Angle Limitator, hereinafter referred to as the DAL, whoes purpose is to make sure the backlashing gun breech and cartridge case wont hit the turret ceiling when recoil.........its like a toothed wedge in the gun elevating machnism, and u will have a decent depression angle if have the“devilish gadget”temporarily removed   .
Doubtfully thought if its true, i consulted some ex-crews who fought in type59 (a chinese variant of T-54) during the 1979 border skirmish with vietnam if there any DALs were removed for depressionangle buff. The answers were instantly and firmly given as " yes, almost all crewteams did it; and the only thing u needed was just a wrench.....once u have done, the type59's max d-angle would be at negative 9-11°, which was better adaptive in karst terrain " :playing: " and plus there wanst any case like gun breech hit the ceiling when recoil cuz the it was still far from ceiling  :teethhappy: "
lol, i wondor if we can have that DAL removed with a comsumable repairkit, just temporarily for a better d-angle
a wrench? It would be funny.

Gun depression.

The best quality a vehicle can have. It can make up for almost any disadvantage.

Gun Depression > Armor

Gun Depression > Speed

Gun Depression > Agility

Gun Depression > Camo Factor

When your tier v gun bounces off a tier vii tank, and the tier vii tank one shots you in return. :teethhappy:

It's not as if the information is classified.  If the casual players you refer to are the ones that don't know anything and don't want to spend a minimal amount of time learning some mechanics of tank warfare, then it's fine by me if they get frustrated and blown out.  They are of no use to us when they are on our teams and no challenge when they are on the other team.
