Tier IX & X, must be very loosely based on Winter War, I thought it was in 1939, now I find it was 1955!

Finns had Ft17 and T26 with 37mm. The Finn armor was wiped out in Winter Wars 1st (and last) tank on tank fight, 2/26/40.

True. A war versus Finland before Germany attacked the USSR so it can not be considered a offensive in the Second World War. It was a war, not an  offensive and it wasn't a part of WWII. It was also a bit of a fiasco for the Red Army so I am surprised they are 'loosely modelling' a tourny on it...

Erlenberg?  For competitive matches? You're joking, right?

- "Winter War"
- on Erlenberg, not Karelia or Arctic Region(aka Mannerheim Line)
- tier 9/10, so unrelated to Finnish tanks or the Russian invasion force(which would be tiers 2 through 5 at most)

Finns had Ft-17 & T26
Soviets had T26, T28, T37, T38, Bt-5, Bt-7 and Su 1-12 SPG. Also some KV -1 & 2 prototypes were tested. They failed, but armor held up to ATG fire.

Sverdlovsk and Arctic most like southern Finland.

Folks, unfortunately we're having issues loading Erlenberg (encounter) to special battles. We're changing the map to Himmelsdorf (encounter).

Erlenberg (encounter) will see it's debut in another tournament.

This gives teams four nights to adjust and prepare for this map change.

The scenery might be right but Severogorsk and Arctic Region are a difficult fit for 5v5 competitive play.

Only one playoff is needed for tonight's tie-breaking round:

Group 3
  • Canadian vs. Revergers
The regular playoffs begin tomorrow, November 13th.

Good luck to all advancing teams  :izmena:

and who was/is naive enough to think otherwise?(well i know who, the people that brought a bathax as tier 10 for example
i dare venture say that EVERY team in ALL groups in the first 2 places have used the WTF100, maaaybe even 3rd place as i've seen a 5th place team in my group use one(but their choice of supporting tanks wasn't optimal).

good thing this wasn't arctice or severogorsk, they're horrible maps(and arctic is a campfest with known chokepoints and fixed set plays) to play in random and in competitive play i can't even imagine

What do you mean?

If you're talking about no battles tonight, per the published schedule, the next round is Nov. 18th.

We haven't used one (but only cause I'm still a little bit away from having it unlocked), nor have we seen one yet out of all of our fights.
I am also quite pleased with the map selection, Erlenberg would have been horrible even if it was an encounter version.

I found T57's to be really common in our tourny run. I didn't see anyone but us use a Foch 155 though.
