I will be interested in seeing the second video.

I was able to crew one of these things during my days at Ft. Knox (when it was still the home of Armor) and when the Patton Museum had one running. I've since seen it indoors so I'm not certain if it works anymore or not. It was also one of the Swiss after-market versions and even though I'm 6'2" I was able to fit into the gunner's seat. Getting out easily was another story.

We would use it during the 4th of July battles on the airfield. The script called for us to knock out an M24 and then to take a hit from one of their Shermans and bail out. Nobody died of course.

I am really considering selling mine to alleviate the misery of my crew.

Huh, many RU players dislike NA, EU and SG players. Cuz a bigger part of Russian players are very little and have lots of stereotips about NA.

And i think your videos are very useful. You show weak spots, modules and crew places. Clever player knows how to use this information in game.

Chieftain, are you planning on accelerating your videos of tanks at the MVTF in light of their merger with the Collings Foundation?

Nick,

It was fun seeing you contorting your tall body is such a small vehicle. My guess most Europeans where about 5'8" back then.

Yes, though probably not at 'inside the hatch' level.

I wouldn't be so sure the GCP was a clutch, I've stalled a ferret and I'm sure that doesn't have a clutch

Chief, after watching the latest video I want to note that you actually hit on something in it. You said that you wouldn't want to fight "buttoned" up in the 38(t).  From what I understand, this was a problem that plagued the TD from the outset. Crews would "get around" it in a way by treating it more like a towed gun TD than a true "TD" or "tank" (using that last bit loosely.)  Various accounts I've read say that they would get the vehicle into position and then map out where their fields of fire were. The commander would do this manually by walking out the distances and placing markers (usually wooden poles, or anything they had on hand) at their optimum firing locations.  When an enemy rolled into that marked off area, the gunner would engage him. More often than not, the commander was outside the vehicle directing fire.

It may be poorly configured for combat, but its a lot less claustrophobic then I expected. The interior felt downright roomy! Especially compared to the Cromwell or IS-4 driver positions.

The thing to keep in mind though, is that there is no "driver" hatch. To enter the 38(t) the driver would have to go through the back where the commander's hatch was.  Meaning that he had less a chance of escape if the tank caught fire.

As always an interesting and informative video! :)  Given that the, ahem, Jagdpanzer 38(t) is one of my favorite low tier vehicles, I really enjoyed this one.  So much more informative than just seeing a tank's exterior in a museum (without a guide)
Chieftain, maybe you could bug the web team about why the link to "Watch more videos from the Chieftain on YouTube" instead takes one to the first Chaffee video.  It would be very handy to be able to jump to "TheChieftainWoT" on youtube to catch up videos from that page.
