As for my OPINION on this KV220. It is starting to grow on me. I call it the punching bag. Because that is EXACTLY what it is. Gun seems weaker than the T14. RoF is less. Climbing hills is very slow. Gets tracked A LOT. View range isnt the issue some make it out to be.

KV-3 is beast, so a KV-220 should be pretty nice as well. Same hull just different turret.

Wow!  That was an eye-opener.  I guess I underestimated the KV-220.
So if one really wanted to buy a big hunk of gold anyway, the tank might have been worth it.

the KV220 goes out and gets steel walls.  that's it's job.  in 8 games i've gotten 5 steel walls.  only lost 2 of those games

8 games isn't a lot, i know.  but 5 of 8 being steel wall games says something about the strength of the tank.

Its a giant brick of armor a damage sponge.  Just like any of the Tier 5 premiums its probably the most effective of the bunch though.  The hull design alone though makes a huge help the massive track covering whole side are huge effectively sponge armor.   T14 is close while Churchill 3 and Excel need to protect sides way more as hull sticks out through them.

Though in the end I would give the T14 the nod as being touch better.   Better power to weight mean it can get around more effectively then the KV-220 thus able to respond to battle better/  Though if KV can keep attention on it soaking hits distracting enemy letting rest of team annhilate enemy it really doesn't need to be all that nimble LOL

Are the two frontal weak spots of the KV-220 as easy to hit as the two frontal weak spots of the T14?

the entire turret front. The problem is that KV 220 is indistinguishable to stock Kv-1 and people often shoot its hull or side. happen to me just now a KV 1s choose to hit my side rather than my turret even we are just 50m apart. my track eat the 0 damage and I managed to chip more than half of his HP since kv 1s always eat kv 220 on 1-1 engagement.

i was accused of hacking earlier because of this tank.  a 3 tank platoon of Excelsior's came across me on Himmelsdorf and couldn't pen my hull at all.  one of them fired 41 gold rounds at me for 0 damage.  none of them even aimed for my turret either.  they just sat there firing away, didn't try to flank or anything, just plinked away at my tracks and armor.  i got to solo all three of them lol.  they were raging hardcore after that :D
i should mention i was sidescraping the shit out of the debris by the church
double edit, i've found that if you turn the turret away from the target by 25-30 degrees in between reloads, the turret even bounces a lot of shots.

AVG PEN    74-124---------69-115

The T14s big issue is that its gun can pen worth crap.  The T14 has trouble doing damage, even with premium rounds, and aiming for weak spots, on other heavy tanks.  The KV-220's pen is improved enough that it looks like it is significantly better than the T14.

That is hilarious!  I hope he enjoyed paying for those 41 wasted rounds!
I compared to the Churchill III. the comparison site shows the KV-220 as a better money maker.  The Churchill has a higher rof, but 35 less damage per round.  I'm wondering if the better mobility helps that out?  Or it might be skewed numbers as it was just re-released.
