+1.

This odd phenomenon has always remained a great mystery to me, but this explanation sheds some light. Thanks!
\
Reasons:
  • They are happy to shoot.
  • Little kids play video games.
  • Some people eat paint chips.
  • Touchpads.  Laptops are everywhere.  People touch the wrong thing and off goes the gun.  I play with a mouse and Fn+F6 to disable the touchpad.

Nothing's a bigger disaster than your own team killing one-another just over trivial nonsense. For example, I've seen one guy decide to kill the most valuable tank on the team just because of an accidental collision. Or in a different case, our scout tried to kill one of our own heavy TDs just because the TD was "in his spot" which incidentally was too far back to be a good scouting position in the first place. Or in yet one more extravagant show of fail, a T1 Cunningham platooned with tier 5 tanks and had the nerve to TK in "self defense". And once this starts, it usually only gets worse. One guy makes a TK and then someone else has to take him out in turn to prevent him from doing it again. That's close to a best case scenario. For every machine prematurely lost, team morale sinks. Just one TK can often lead to suicides just to get back to the garage faster. Let alone what three or four TKs can do.

I have been playing this game for a while now. Its easy to see how needlessly frustrating it can be. I've raged over just about everything at some point or another. But NEVER have I shot a teammate intentionally. That's the single worst thing anyone can do. I don't even think the noobs are the most common perpetrators here, usually just the dedicated trolls. Much easier to troll your own side than to troll the enemy, after all.

I think that this video PROVES that my position is correct. Would Geico misinform us?

What sign is lit when Arty has a tank lit up.

The same as when someone else puts their reticle over a target and hits the "T" key.  The target flashes and the down arrows begin to blink over it.  You also get a note in the chat section (lower left corner of your screen) saying so.

This is what I'm talking about when I say "call the kill".  Amazing game in my Chaffee.... which is hard to do.  1 enemy arty left, well hidden.  Plenty of time, I have 5 kills and basically saved the game.  Off hunting the last enemy, and our team goes for the cap.  I asked them several times nicely to stop capping as did another one of our players.  They continue to cap, robbing the top gun.  Why?  We had plenty of survivors, lots of time and it would have been the right thing to do.  But no.

This is why we can't have nice things.....

if you surf the net at the same time you play, Sir, you are indeed still a noob.

My list is obviously not all-inclusive, since people every day still find new and amazing ways to be really really bad@tanks.

I agree with everything you've said, but let me add one that is for old and new alike:  If you join a battle STAY and fight.  Don't walk away leaving your team short a player.  I was in a game yesterday where THREE players did move at all.  Guess what... we lost.

I agree!  this should be on the list.  I would note however, that if someone's name stays grey on your team list, it means the server didn't load them in correctly.  So if that's the case, being AFK isn't their fault.  Also, I have loaded in and been disconnected before, but when I load BACK in, I come into the same game, just late.  It's nice to let your team know this has happened to you.

But yeah, if someone loads and doesn't play, report them for being idle.

3. Why do Noobs always run out and die? Stop. EVERY tank can make a contribution. Rushing to get to a safe spot before the enemy gets set up is fine, but suicide scouting is not.

5. Why do Noobs run way out in front of everyone, and then scream for help? Stop. Wait for your team to catch up, or don’t run off in the first place. No heavy tank can keep up with your light butt.
12. Why do Noobs always bitch about kill stealing? Damage and survival are the key to winning. If there is a damaged tank in my sights, I will take the shot. If you did 75% of the damage, you’ll get most of the experience. The ONLY time it is NOT acceptable to kill steal is when someone calls for a target because they are about to get top gun or a medal for the series of kills in a game (like Radley Walters Medal). Let them have it. Never steal a “called” kill.

.

Many players play to kill. Their sole objective is to get to a position to shoot at other tanks as fast as possible and get off as many shots as possible before they die and have to select another tank.

Other players play to win. They would rather play one 12 minute battle killing 2-3 enemies and outwitting the red team than play 6 two minute battles with a kill every couple of battles.

Because....I am a noob?

The ability to get right into a tank at the beginning of your sign in is great...you get in and you rock

But at the same time, you don't anything about what you are doing.....verbage like cap and mm  are mysteries

but I am sure this is only prevalent in the lower tiers.
