I can't decide which tank would be best. I enjoy the heavies (T1,M6 and T29), slow but getting the point across with a lil smash mouth in your face play style. I've decided to stop at the T29 T7 untill I learn the mechanics of the game better and started up the Russian chain gang. I've enjoyed the KV-1 so far and have been doing my best in it on everything but wins, but it is going up, currently at 47.1. My kill to death ratio is by far the best in it at 1.53. I've had the best match to date in it earlier, one of those OMG heart pounding what a RUSH type of matches. I was so close to getting a top gun it on Fjords with several other awards, If I had held off one second to shoot I would have hit the last guy standing and got the kill. I'll get it in time.

Could I spare a few minutes of your time and convince me what tank I should choose next? I'm in no hurry what so ever.

I LOVE the T-150 but must say the rest of the line especially the kv-3 feels slow and underarmored. Get the KV-1S solid line all the way through. IS-7 a decent tank despite all bad press. It manages to bounce my shots anyway lol.

Oh dear... It seems you ran into a fork in the road, looking to get into an ST-1 tier 9? or the IS3 tier 8? Best look at the stats of every tank then make your choice, i went down the china line and i am sitting in an WZ 111 1-4 tier 9 right now :) but Its just a linear line though KV1s many would suggest.

I have owned all the Soviet heavy tanks at one point or another, the KV-1S and the line that follow is much better.

The is8 is a really good tier 9 tank, even my scrubness managed to perform well in it. the St-1 is up there with the E75 on terms of how good it is.

I went for the T-150 first, but be warned that its not very good until its fully upgraded. And if you want to troll then get the KV-2. The KV-1S is meh to me.

T-150 for sure.. KV-1s is getting nerfed..  If you choose the T-150 remember to angle your armour.  If you do so... it will be really good

Well if u play a lot u can probably get to the IS going through the 1s before the need/split and overall I like the IS line better. Kv1s sucks stock but once u get the 122mm u will love it

All three are good.
KV-1S if you like popping out, hitting the enemy in the face, and taking away something precious.
T-150 if you like sustained damage and decent armor.

I have not played KV-2, but it's a tank that even tier 8's are cautious of.

KV-2 is a dead end line, though, and it won't lead to any more shiny new tanks, unless you're looking to get that artillery.

You can do the KV-2 and get the KV150 at a discount.

KV-2 is fun, but limited.  KV150 is like a bigger KV-1.

KV-1S is feared and fast, but can be more dependent on team than the KV150 (you have to hide a lot).

None are that good bottom tier (but still feared).  IS line is easy to play, but gets comparatively less scary as the tiers go up (the IS actually has armor, but the gun isn't much better (just fires faster) and none of them are much good outside brawling range (unless the enemy roles into the open).

I hate em.  Stalin era commie tanks.  Ok for Russian front.  Be interesting however if they ever duked it out with us and Brits.  O gee, they have!  Russian tanks got their azz handed to em by the Israelies, also by us in Korea, and later us in Gulf war 1 and 2.  Primitive.  Just like their Migs in Korea and Vietnam where we had a 30 to one kill ratio. Israel blew every Soviet jet to hell in their fights. Their stuff is partly myth. OK,,,,,,but great....NO....except in WoT.  However their stuff is better since Russia booted out the Communist regime.  No kidding.  Rant...feel better.

I'd say unless you want a specific tank (KV-1S or IS-3 for TCs/tournaments, ST-I for pubs) - don't bother with that line and play US.

If you are dead set on playing Soviet T6s:

- T-150 is probably more beginner-friendly. Plays like a KV and has some usable armor. The stock grind is not *that* bad.

- KV-2 - super-slow, huge profile. Basically - it's a direct-fire arty. Inaccurate, slow to aim. You can get some lulz out of playing it by one-shotting things on occasion, but all in all, it's a pretty situational tank with next to zero flexibility.

- KV-1S - the strongest and most fun of the three, by far. That's why it's getting nerfed. Why? Because it can move. Used heavily in TCs due to its mobility + huge alpha. Different playstyle than KV, but gives you a taste of what to expect from later tanks (IS and the like). Close range peek-a-boo monster, can still do well in +2 Tier battles thanks to its mobility. Fun to play, once mastered. The grind can be tough, as other guns are junk, but if you can stay alive while spamming HE from 122 mm, you can still earn decent XP. Try to take advantage of 3x weekends and doubles as much as you can. Having said all this, the uncertainty of when the nerf hammer will strike should be taken into consideration. Also, it could also be seen as an opportunity to get a free tanks/slots if it gets split.

I like the KV-1S, like how reliably it can go toe-to-toe vs. many tier 7 and 8 tanks when lodged into its favorite shooting spot with solid cover.

On the other hand, it is rather comical when stock, or in any stage without the top 122mm gun. I do physically groan when I see the 1S without the top-gun mounted, because that's so much firepower and general combat power lost from your team when the 1S is not experienced enough to be driven by driver with all the top modules. It will certainly reward a driver who is aggressive enough to move into range where its gun can hit, but still cautious enough to stay within support range and make use of cover while reloading.

I will eventually try other heavies as well, but I'm interested in moving on once the 1S nerf hits.

Download test server and try all of them out
In short
Most people prefer kv1s. Hugr damage, great mobility for a heavy, blah armor, slow reload
Will be split in 2 tanks in 6 months-  considered overpower ed by many
T 150 plays like a kv1
Kv2 huge derp slow reload 20 sec
I tried all 3 have kv1s

I got the KV-1S first then the KV-2 which I used to unlock the T-150.  They are all fun tanks.  I would say get the KV-1S first since they are going to be messing with it and it could be possible to get a free tank and a free garage slot out of it.
I unlocked the T-150 from the KV 2 since it was only 13k xp and you can unlock the top gun for the T-150 on the KV 2, both while grinding up your KV 2 crew.
Currently grinding my 1S for the KV-13 in case they mess with the tech tree and switch stuff around, then the IS.
