I'm leaning agaisnt the KV-2 at least for now because it leads to an SPG which I have no interest in playing, I'm sure I'll try it later but not now.   The KV-1S load time is what I'm worried about it, I've been playing with and watching a few in pubs.  I mounted the 122 on the KV-1 and took it off after 20 +/- matches and mounted the 85 mm, I seem to do better in it.  I believe it makes me aim better at the weak spots.  12 sec load vs 5 sec load time, i'd probably do better in the tier 7 matches with the 122mm, but I do pretty well I think supporting and taking selective shots in the t7 matches with the 85mm.  I killed  a lowe yesterday side hugging him, lucky maybe I dunno but I did it.  I'd like to watch more T-150's fight, you just don't see as many as them, maybe that's a sign that the 1S is a better pub tank?

Bought the S1 upgraded it all except the engine and T7 122mm gun
16 matches
14 deaths
5 kills
50% victories, honestly I didn't help win a one.
Gun is Inacurate as all get out at 300m
Not really liking it...once I shoot players know the long load time and rape me.
Back to the KV-1 and it's 85mm to earn back another million coin to try the T-150.

The engine is actually quite important for the 1S. You need that power to have that agility to scoot out, pop off a shot and get back to safety asap. Yes, the gun is inaccurate which forces you to play at close ranges and the long reload forces you to use that engine power to pop out, shoot, and get back to cover. If that's not your style you might prefer a different tank. The US heavy line is more conducive to sitting still to aim for longer periods and hitting targets from a little farther away while enemy shots bounce off of your turret

The hell with it...So I go spend some more gold, get the engine and long 122 and even longer load time.  4 a min...
20 matches
18 deaths
5 kills
45%
Just shot a hellcat right after he shoots me, he just drives up and kills me as I wait for another piece of lead...don't think it's meant for a city fight.
UGHHH!  time for bed

Don't give up on it so quick. The top engine and top 122 are what make this tank. Until then it's a pain in the ass, but once you've got them it transforms it.

I've been much happier with the T-150 than the KV-1S - just sayin'

I'm not, gotta earn some coin today so I can buy the rammer, EGLD and either coated optics or binocs.  If this tank is a peak a boo tank should I get coated optics?  What do you folk recommend outfiting this tank with?

T-150 for sure.. KV-1s is getting nerfed.. If you choose the T-150 remember to angle your armour. If you do so... it will be really good

I never played more than a few games in it, but that 107 was my gun of choice for the KV-3, and it even works ok (with gold spam) in the KV-4.

Keep a decent supply of HE handy for that tank. Nothing scares a Hellcat (or a Waffle) like smacking him for 280 damage, and him knowing you can do it again before he can get another shot off. :D

I wouldn't bother with optics, crap view range +10% is still crap view range. I would say throw a toolbox on, you'll get tracked a lot, and you can move it around. That or vents. I only use optics on tanks that already have good view range.

I played the KV-2 back when it was just a turret upgrade to the KV, and back then I preferred the 107 to the 152. The T-150 is like that tank with a lower profile turret. The current KV-2 basically only exists for the 152, which is fun, but not my play style. I didn't play the KV-1S until after the IS (again, before the Russian heavy tech tree rework) and it felt like a step backward to me.

Between those 3 tanks, I liked the T-150 most. However, at tier VI, you need to ask yourself which line is most appealing. For me it was the IS line which goes through the KV-1S.

I'll have to try some HE, have only used it to reset cap.

I've been using binocs on the heavies so I can see better on those maps where you don't fight nose to nose.  I dunno if it's helping.  I'll try a tool box, havent on any tank yet.  thanks for the suggestion

People have been saying that for 6 months.  At some point you should just take what's enjoyable today.

I have not played KV-2, but it's a tank that even tier 8's are cautious of.

I've played more than a thousand games in my KV-2, from back in my old noob days to the present.  The KV-2 has always been one of my favourites, because the derp is just so hilarious.  In tier 6 games, it's hilarious to vapourize tier 4 and tier 5 tanks with a single shot if they're dumb enough to sit still long enough for your gun to aim in.  In tier 8 games, it's hilarious to hurt enemies who think they can't be hurt by a tier 6 tank.  And tanks with thin-skinned or open-top turrets are even more hilarious because the shell can drop down right inside and detonate for full damage: I've one-shotted three T25/2s with my KV-2 this week.  They never see it coming.  One of them accused me of hacking.

I have both the KV-1S and the T-150 but I like the IS better than the KV-3.

I love my old KV-1S, although I don't run it as much since it went elite.  It REALLY needs Rammer/Vents/GLD though...the aim time & reload time are horrific without those.  But with them, I think my reload is down to just under 13 seconds, which isn't too bad.

I prefer the T-150 line though...I always enjoy loading up my KV-3, and I'm always jumping between the 100mm and the IS 122 (I kinda prefer the bigger long 122, just because of that alpha, although the 100 has better reload time, so I can crank out more shots).
