I have recently bought my new SU-152 and just now got tracks and engine
I'm pondering if i should go and research the 122s or just get radios and go for the ISU-152
oh and it would be nice receiving some suggestions from the pros that have used this TD

Without a doubt get both the 122's for this tank.  You will need them in the ISU in order to achieve the BL-10 (which is the reason you want an ISU to begin with I hope).

There's been plenty of debate as to what is the preferred gun on the SU-152.  The stock gun is fun but the 122 is much more accurate and really spits out a ton of damage fast.

Im no pro but I kept using the 152 and went straight for the ISU.

Then I used ISU to build exp for BL-10 and used the SU152 to research the 122's that are needed on the ISU to unlock the BL-10. Primary reason for doing it this way is the daily 'doubled exp' games since I dont play 5+ hours in a day, even on weekends, like some players do. The only modules I added to the SU was a cammo net and binoculars. I put a rammer on the ISU though and run with the cammo net and a tool box.

Once your crew has hit 90% or so ability you can start to hit targets out past 300m with some regularity, but you will need the binoculars to see them.

With your crew at lower ability you are a brawler, you need to be up close.

The 152 with HE has excellent killing power and will usually one shot up to MKIV's with the occasional higher vehicle. Ive one shot Jagdpanthers with the 152 HE.

The final 122 does out 390 damage , 10 times a minute.

What's more. You NEED to research these guns before you can research the 152mm BL-10, which is the reason for being of the ISU.

Hip's idea isn't a horrible one, to play both simultaneously.

I recommend gabe's approach. The D-25S does wonders when used in the right situation (i.e. defending a flank). It is also easier to get more kills in the SU with it. I do miss the one shot moments though.

What I did was use the 152 until I got the second 122.

Skipped the first one because it doesn't fire fast enough to make up for the lost HE damage potential when you ditch the 152.
The second 122 is great because you can have your cake and eat it too, having a gun with good pen and enough ROF that makes your HE damage comparable with that of the 152's as well.

But yeah, all of the radios and guns on the SU152 are found on the ISU152, so those are a must and will get a lot of your research out of the way so you can get that monster BL10 ASAP. :Smile_honoring:

You will want the 122's for the ISU but skip the 122 that you can research as an upgrade in the ISU an dgo straight for the BL-10!

I loved both the 122s on the SU-152, they do a decent chunk of HE damage as well if they have to, thanks to the decent RoF.
