Hi all

I'm a noob with WOT. I've downloaded the program and it was working fine last week. Over the weekend I downloaded v8.9 and ever since then WOT doesn't work. When I click on the launcher, the program starts and says 'applying the changes' and then it disappears off the screen and never re-appears. The program continues to be running in the processes.

I've uninstalled, reinstalled, shut down, rebooted, system restored to last week and even went and brought  a disc and tried to install that way. Same result.

I'm running windows 7. Please help as I can't get onto play and don't know what to try next??

Thanks for your help in advance.

Jaski

Instead of running the game from the launcher, run it from WorldOfTanks.exe [in C:/Games/World of Tanks]

yeah i have a similar issue tho it's because it thinks i don't have the necessary permissions to access the file path of the launcher so i have to use the install exe. file to work around it.  don't even know what is triggering the issue with said permissions either.

I've tried to start it via the exe file but it does the same thing, that is it won't start. Any other suggestions please?

It won't let me uninstall now because it says there is no unist0000.msg file?? Is there somewhere where I can download this file so I can now do a proper uninstall. I'm guessing that may work??

Give it more time that normal. I had the same problem. I thought it was the PC and it was my patience. ;)

I've had a similar problem, if you run admin previleges with the launcher, it works, and I can play, but if I just open the launcher, it works, but when I press play, the games doesn't start, and I get  this error message: "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022)." I've read around the forums, but I haven't come up with anything other than to reinstall the game. So can anyone help me?

At least two times for me, after what ever the latest and greatest patch was, I could not get the game to start.

I had to uninstall the game then do a full download of the newest version, and then all worked just fine again.

Sometimes the most simple & straightforward solutions do work !

And if that STILL does not work, contact WG tech support is the best suggestion.

I just tried, this doesn't do anything. I click the connect button, it says "connecting..." for about 1 second then it just stops. No matter how many times I sit there hitting the connect button it just keeps doing this.

Here was my solution:

Run the WoT_Test_Installer as Administrator.

Apparently there are some settings that need admin rights, after this the updater program worked.

OP, when you downloaded the game and it was working fine, I assume that was with the latest version, v 8.11?  But somehow you then downloaded and installed an older version, v 8.9, on top of that?

If this is correct, I would uninstall your game completely and start over.  If you download and reinstall from scratch, you should get the latest version (again) and be good to go (again).

Let me know if I'm misunderstanding what you did.

I've not run into this, but I'm guessing that your windows user account doesn't have administrative privileges.  Is this correct?  If so, switch users to an account with full administrator rights.

I also have problems with the game launcher. Whenever I finish downloading and click play, the downloading screen disappears and says my computer doesn't have a certain file and then tells me to try and re-install the game. I looked on the FAQ and it told me to allow the game launcher through the firewall. I did that but it still gives me the same error message. Does anybody know how I can get it to work?

I also used an Administrator account and it still doesn't work.

P.S I am using 9.0
