Whenever I enter Sniper mode my computer locks up.  Have to do a hard reset.  Thats the only time I have crashes.  Just think about going into sniper mode and WHAM done

Experiencing the same issue as the majority of people in here and it's definitely related to WoT. Even with a fresh OS install (Win7 64) and a fresh game install it will cause the system to crash.

Symptoms are:

WoT will play fine for X amount of games but then will suddenly freeze. System is still responsive for up to 15 seconds where an alt-tab can still allow web browsing, video playback and even other applications to run, including a dual-screen setup with EVE and WoW open where they still continue to respond for the ~15 seconds. After the ~15 seconds the system hard-locks requiring a cold shutdown to restore.

So it's not a GPU crash due to the fact I can continue to do other things (note that this even happens when WoT is the only thing running beyond the installed Windows apps).

GPU temp never goes above 65c and CPU never goes above 42c.

This is experienced even on a fresh install of Win7 64 where only the complete Windows update is done (including SP1) and no other drivers except the latest nVidia (as of 06/26/12 it's the 301.42 version) and the only application running is WoT.

Experienced where the game is ran from: a single 1TB HDD on the Windows partition, a single 1TB HDD for Windows and a 64GB SSD, a single 64GB SSD for Windows and a single 64GB for WoT, and all 3 setups on both onboard SATA ports and a PCI-E SATA card.

Happens in both Windowed and Fullscreen, single- and dual-monitor setups via DVI and HDMI.

Memtest has been ran on every one of the 4gig sticks I have for over 8 hours per stick as well as a 13 hour run on all 4.

So unless the issue is with my keyboard and/or mouse the problem is with a combination of the WoT application and a something on my system, a combination which no other game or application seems to have a problem with.

<snip>

As an update, I set the C3/C6 sleep state in my BIOS to Disabled (default state is Auto, aka Enabled) and this seems to have helped with the freezes, I've gone 3 days without one.

Anyone else with an Intel chip able to test this?

**Disclaimer** Do not try this unless you know and understand what changing the C3/C6 state means!

It's a setting you should find under Advanced CPU Core Features or similar in the BIOS (for example, on the latest Gigabyte BIOS it's located in M.I.T. > M.I.T. Current Status > Advanced CPU Core Features > C3/C6 State Support).

This is a great write up I bookmarked a while ago explaining CPU power-saving schemes in case anyone is interested.

Manchanter do you have your OS on a SSD by any chance? I see lots of people disable c3/c6 for higher write speeds. If it stops the crashing for you that's good, I'm just curious what's really happening. When you are playing WoT the processor should be staying in state c0 so it's weird this setting has any impact.

Nope, the change didn't help, still crashing. However I did get higher write speeds though this is starting to annoy me. Crashed twice tonight already :(

Did you look through event viewer? Also check %systemroot%\Minidump for dumps and post a recent one here or mediafire, it might tell you what exactly the problem is.

Has anyone else been stuck on the loading screen like this, I cant start my own post because my brand new account is restricted, how the hell am i suppose to get forum support if i cant post new topics on the forum..??

Can you check for a relevant error log? Either look in the event viewer or the reliability monitor(easiest). Action center, expand the maintenance tab,  and click view reliability history. You'll get a screen similar to this:
Spoiler
Double-click on WoT to view the tech. details and copy/paste them here. 99% sure the crash was caused by access violation and the log should narrow the possible causes depending on where in the memory it occurred.

Do you get an error message? Check to make sure firewall, router and other security software isn't blocking WoT from connecting.

Nothing is showing on the reliability monitor,I think it's my whole graphics card because the game will eventually BSOD my comp if I don't alt f4 fast enough.

If you upload some recent dumps on mediafire and post the link here I'll look at them. Odd no error log show up for tanks, but fixing the bsod problem might help.

Nothing in event viewer and a minidump is only done in a BSOD situation, which I've never had on this system. This is a hard lock 10-20 seconds after the game freezes.

Well I don't know what to tell ya with no error logs, no data. And I thought you said a few times now you had BSoD/your system crashed.

God this is getting frustrating, nice to know i'm feeling the pain as well as everyone else but please can it be confirmed or not that this can be addressed from the developers end?

Intel Core i7 processor, Nvidia GeForce GTS240 graphics card should be able to run this game without BSOG after 3 games.

They will likely tell us what exactly the problem is. Just open Windows Explorer, navigate to %systemroot%\Minidump, upload them to a filehost like Mediafire, and post the link here. I get that you're frustrated, but you're not giving us any information to work with, or confirming if you tried any of the previous tips users posted, so it's difficult to suggest troubleshooting methods.

The dump says your GPU became unresponsive, Windows tried to restart the GPU and driver, but they failed to respond.

First thing I would check is the temperature of the graphics card under load, as well as your PSU if possible. Download GPU-Z or some other software to check that. >70°C for long periods will slowly damage the video card and cause instability.

If the temps look fine try to do a complete reinstall of nVidia drivers. Download the latest driver and then go here and download Driver Fusion (formally Driver Sweeper) and install it, make sure you uncheck to box asking you to install snap.do browser widget. Uninstall the nVidia drivers and reboot. Then open Driver Fusion, click on nVidia display, then analyze, then delete and reboot. Then install the drivers and try playing the game. Rebooting is necessary, do not skip.

Try doing a clean boot to rule out the possibility of another driver causing this problem. Just don't disable the nvidia services/driver during the process.

If none of that works, it's likely there's a hardware issue. Reseat your graphics card, make sure the power connector(s) are snug. Beyond that it's possible your PSU is failing to deliver enough power, try installing another one to test, or if you feel comfortable use a multi-meter to verify the power output. Maybe try unplugging extra devices like hard-drives and such. The video card alone can draw ~120W: 75W will come from the PCI-E slot, the rest from the PEG or straight from the PSU itself.

If none of that works your video card is probably on its last legs. Excessive heat, shock or twisting will break solder and components. You could try to down-clock slightly, if you're lucky you might find a stable setting. Last thing to try before tossing the card if you have no warrenty would be baking the card in an oven, often times manufacturers will use cheap solder that cracks easily. The oven method attempts to solve that be melting the solder creating a solid connection. I don't recommend it but you can find guides online.

Search google for bug check 117 maybe you can find some more information.
