Here is the link for future changes from the devs:

http://ftr.wot-news.com/2013/12/24/stream-with-veider/

It states the T49 will be changed. Personally, I'm not happy about this and can almost guarantee it will be some kind of nerf. The W/R for this tank is high, so that's most likely what they plan on doing.

About time.

I expect the M18 Hellcat will probably also end up eventually loosing the 90mm and M36 turret.

It's basically going to turn from the T42/49 combination it is now to a T49/67 combination more appropriate for its guns.

Well lets be honest. It's a pretty strong tank for it's tier. I can't tell you how many stat padding unicums I've seen drive those things along with the KV-1S. It can be killed fairly easily though. Maybe it just needs a slight RoF nerf and it will be fine. It's hilarious we got blatantly OP tanks like the WT E-100, T57 Heavy, and Foch 155 and yet WG cares more about nerfing the tier 5 tanks. Seems legit.

Could you go into more detail please? I don't understand.

its a complete joke how they do this to every tank worth playing.  what's the point of having tiers and different lines of tanks if every tank worth having gets the shit nerfed out of it.  ridiculous.  lets just play atari tanks because that's what its coming to.

Strong for its tier, yes with a caveat......if you play to its strengths it's OP.....just like any other tank......

it seems anymore they want "noob friendly"......they don't want specialized, they don't want tanks you have to be actually good at the game to play.....they want tanks any noob can jump in and get some kills.......

nerf my 49 I'm done......I play mostly German and there have already been enough direct and indirect nerfs to the entire like already, notwithstanding all the other nerfs.....can you say SP? (And no, never had one but it wasn't as difficult to counter that WG needed to nerf it so badly.....but now the SP is a shadow of itself).....

dont nerf tanks hanks that actually NEED nerfing (122-44?  Waffle?), don't buff tanks the really need it (Maus sticks out).....

Basically, the T49 we have in the game starts out with a stock t42 open top turret, and ends up with the T49 closed turret. However, T42 was to have a 37mm, T49 the 57.

On the other hand, T67 was to have the 75 and/or 76mm (Depending on what gun was available). This was an open-topped turret. As a result, the 'stock' gun vehicle should really be T47 (closed turret) and the 'elite' vehicle T67 (open turret)

Nothing wrong with the t49 atm. I can one shot it in a Kv-1s and two shot it in my Kv-1. I see no problem here.

Newb question here.  As far as in game mechanics go, would that be a decrease in camo factor and an increase in view range when comparing them?

So we'll be looking at a reverse M36 situation. Well, it can't hurt the view range, and if anything that turret will be lighter. I'm pretty ok with this.

So what the Chief is saying, is that the tank will be slightly more vulnerable to HE (like, useless 57mm HE can damage you from above).

NOOOO! Not my "Little Zippy"

I hope it's just a slight RoF nerf. Leave my speed, camo, view range, and pen alone!

Stats can be hard to interpret. Some tanks have better stats due to the better players playing it. Some tanks seem to get better MM. I have medium tanks of the same tier with very similar paper stats, yet notably different W/R for each, etc. The T49 is one of the most difficult tanks to play, which is why a higher percentage of the games played with it are from experienced players. It is a one shot kill for some tier 4s, and quite a few tier 5s. Get into the frequent tier 7 battle, and this baby can be killed in a one shot splash (or by having a turret pointing at it). And for goodness sakes, don't hit any bumps going too fast or you lose half your crew and 50% of your hp.

I like playing mine and have decent results from it. However, I like to judge whether a tank is OP from facing it rather than driving it. And when facing it, I have no fear and enjoy the one shot kill. I agree with the previous comment, there are many more tanks that are OP that need "rebalancing" long before any time should be spent on this little ole tier 5.

At this point, I have had so many of my non-Russian tanks nerfed to oblivion that this will not either surprise me or effect me much. I will just have to take out the KV1S and go on a one shot rage!!!

Wow, I stopped playing a while back because they ruined my favorite tank (IS-4). Started playing again a few weeks ago only to discover that they also ruined all my other favorite tanks (most notably VK 3601H). So I hunted around and found a new tank that I love to play in the T49... it's been about 95% of my games since I got it, if they manage to ruin that one for me I'll probably just leave again. I much prefer learning and specializing in just a couple of tanks, usually one high-tier and one mid-tier, and I hate having to learn new ones all the time.

I agree and I wish developers would think more like this. I pretty much play the US TD line and enjoy myself a lot. However, I am never afraid to face any of them in combat (from T18 to Hellcat). That means they are not over powered. Simple.
