yes I seal club on every now and then . In almost every tier 1 game. there is now a spam bot selling fake gold. WG this is bad for your business the Tier 1 players do not know it is a scam.Reporting is not working I was in one game everyone reported the bot the next game the same bot was there. I'm making this post to try to bring it to the attention of WG. Please WG address this.

well if the tier 1 had any internet savvy, they'd automatically say bot, but otherwise i agree, i find them very annoying.

A common problem for every MMO game, and a very annoying/pesky problem that is very difficult to contain as well.

Well, WG has done one tiny thing about this. They now have a message in the installer that says to only buy gold from the official WoT site, but I think that's it.

I guess if I ever get around to playing the otsu, I'll be able to see one of these bots for myself. =P

They should have a system to flag players with names that are a random string of characters so they can ban them faster.

it's teir 1 which means start, They could be new to it. I played sims for years never saw a bot or a gold scam. It was only when I moved here that I have seen it.

I've reported them on occasion.  But, I suspect its not a problem that has a solution.

I figure its a program that spawns bots.

In battle, I usually put out a msg like "good, the gold spam bot is on their team", just as

a way of informing new players about the scam.

These people use proxies for sure. They are hackers and virus distributers they are too good at covering their tracks or else LEAs would have them.

It is acutually quite easy to change your computers IP address and your enternets IP address. As least simple enought for gold spammers to be able to.

A realy person does make an account. A player will create an account with a "fake" email and then once in the game will activate the botting script or "auto-typer" that will type out gold selling sites untill the account is banned and a new one is created.

As I said this is a common problem on many MMO's and it is a problem that is very difficult to prevent and contain.

I was in the lower tiers over Christmas and couldn't believe it. Most tier 1 games have that crap.

ok how about this something that monitors chat and if something is posted that is exactly the same 3 times it gets a ban?

Every time this is said I suggest this...

WG just needs to add in a word filter like the one for swearing that blocks out the name of their site, it's the same site every time and they use that same message on every game they spam it in. That way, sure we have bots sitting at base doing nothing, but they aren't robbing the noobs from their money.

"God damn windowlicker team" get's spammed quite a bit on weekends. I'd have a ban in no time.

Same thing.  I play my LTraktor (Don't judge!  I use it for Team Battles!), and in at least 1/4 games there is one of these things.  Really annoying, and the worst part is I have to try to explain to all the other guys that it's a scam, meanwhile they jump at the idea of free gold.

Should we start a name list of people who are doing this (the free gold spam)?

It can work in theory, but not enought to stop it. Here is why:

1.) With the vast amount of chat that goes on through the game (public battles, tank companies, clan wars, training ect..) it may be too much for the system to handle.

2.) Wargaming will have to manually search for these gold selling website or look at all of the bots and see what website they are advertising and then build a auto system that will have to catch the key words of the website to block the chat and try and banned. All while new websites can be created.

3.) It can be easy to get around the system. For example of a sell site. "BuyGold.com"  can be typed "13uyG0ld dot c o m" like this can possibly bypass the system.

When people are bypassing a filter of sorts, it sets off a red alarm in almost everyones heads, if it doesn't you must be really new to the internet.  Considering this site has been spamming in MMO's for the last 2+years, as I can recall, they haven't changed to another site, so I doubt they'd change it just for one game blocking them out. They'll still have 100's of other games to spam and make money off of.
