If it's on the battle loading screen... I've been noticing it also on a computer I just installed the game on. I haven't updated the battle loading config file for a few updates now, so my guess is that one of the later XVM updates made some changes to the loading screen, causing the mod to default back to the "stock" loading screen built into XVM.

If you see lightbulbs and "x"-shaped graphics, those are stock XVM elements."X"s indicate registered XVM users (the orange Xs are for current/active users). The light bulbs indicate users that have some additional features enabled. .

I'll work on an update for when 9.18 is finally released.

its on the battle loading screen and also the player panel when in battle

whats odd is that I only see it on my tank and usually one other tank

its a tiny light bulb with a line through it for me and with or without a line for the other tank - not sure why it varies.

I dont see any of the other indicators you mentioned.

Any idea how to turn it off for the time being?

Great work by the way Bones - your config is the best!

EDIT - added a couple of screen shots

That is strange... Those lightbulbs shouldn't be there. I don't have them on any machine that I use. Interesting...

They are the XMQP markers. If you go to your settings on the XVM site, you can activate or deactivate that service there.

Long story made short, its a bit more situational awareness. If the bulb is "lit" then that tank has been spotted by an enemy. It's just an easy way for players to share that extra bit of info with their team.

I'll have to do some more work and see if I can try out a few different machines to determine why its showing up for you. Hmmm...

Hi Bones

well turning the XMQP option off in XVM certainly fixed it so thanks for that

Does it mean Im not sharing stats though?

What I didnt understand was why they were there at loading screen - but they are gone now so thank you

You're not losing much by disabling XMQP. What it does is "share" data between XVM users on the same team. The most significant bit of info you'd get is info on whether or not a teammate is currently being spotted by an enemy unit. There's more to it, but nothing most players would miss out on.

The main config file for stat-less version says it's only updated to 9.16, which may explain why it doesn't work properly for me.  Did you update it to 9.17?

The config files themselves rarely need to be updated, so that line of text is relatively meaningless. But since there are some significant changes with the update to 9.18, I'll be digging deep into the config files to see what has changed and what needs updating, so if you're having specific problems, post them here and I'll take a look.

UPDATE 18 APRIL:

Upgraded to XVM 6.6.0-dev build 7391 for WoT 0.9.18.

There are SIGNIFICANT changes to this mod, not the least of which include a drastic change to the mod's drectory/folder structure. I am just beginning to work my way through the massive number of changes, and over the next couple of weeks will likely be updating the various config files to account for the new changes and functionality available.

For the time being, though, the mod seems to work as-is, but be aware of the following as you install this mod into the game and begin to use it in battle:

XVM's developers have made a SIGNIFICANT change to this mod's directory structures. Unpack this mod archive now into the game's root /games/World_of_Tanks/ folder! If you unpack the contents into the /res_mods/ folder as has been done up to this point, XMV will NOT work!

Additionally, though the XVM developers have marked this build as the North American server version of XVM for WoT 0.9.18, they have left this build internally marked as a "development" build. This means that when loading into battle, you will see a message tiled across your screen; pay it no heed! Once the battle starts, the text will disappear, and XVM's full functionality will be available just as it always has!

Good tanking!

UPDATE 26 April:

Updated to XVM 6.6.2 build 7427 for WoT 0.9.18.

XVM 6.6 has significantly changed the directory structure, so be sure you unpack this mod archive in the /games/World_of_Tanks/ directory (and not in the /res_mods/ directory).

The team HP pool counter should be active at the top center of the screen while in battle. Most everything should look the same as usual, but if you run into any issues or glitches, please be sure to report them here.

Good tanking!

Hi all. I was just wondering if there's a way to add extended info to tank carousel like xTE, wn8 expected damage and stuff. I really like Bones XVM and dont wanna install another config.

Thanks.

Probably the easiest thing to do... find another config that has the carousel info you want displayed and "borrow" that bit of the config. The info you're looking for is in the carouselNormal.xc file (or alternately, I have a bunch of fields turned off... you can go into that file with your favorite text editor and play around to see if that gives you the info you're looking for).

This is the best part of XVM - you can easily grab bits and pieces of other configs that you like and piece together your own.

UPDATE 3 May:

Upgraded to XVM 6.4.4 build 7447 for WoT 0.9.18.

Apologies to everyone for taking so long in updating this - I was on the road for over a week and am just now getting everything working the way it is supposed to. This stable release fixes several problems, including the inability to click on/ping the map, click on the players panel (to create dynamic platoons), etc.

Additionally, XVM has DISABLED the win chances option. This is no longer available and cannot be re-enabled.

I am currently working on fixing the damage panels and will upload a new configuration as soon as I can get it working right.

Good tanking!

Hello,

I downloaded your mod since I liked the over tank Display in battle on the Pictures.

BUT....

In the downloaded Version the tank type Icon is on the bottom than on the top and also the Tier is missing.

How do I Change that to make it look as in the Picture? Maybe without the Tank Icon but I would like the Tier displayed and the type Icon on top.

Any help would be great!

UPDATE 31 MAY:

Upgraded to XVM 6.7.1 build 7569 for WoT 0.9.19.

Report any bugs or problems here and I'll dig into them as reported or as I find any issues.

Good tanking!

Hi Bones

thanks once again for your work in keeping this config going - its great!

I combine this with hangman for different garages

I also was using elkrda damage announcer - but for this update I cannot get it to work

Is this something that XVM can do?

or do you know of one that works?

No worries if not was just curious

cheers

oh found one that works now - but still interested if this is something that would be possible under your config.

Alas, not a function that XVM includes (though given how many other functions XVM has inclued over the past year or two, I'd be surprised if they don't eventually build something like that in).

Good tanking!

UPDATE 2 JUNE:

Upgraded to XVM 6.7.2 build 7581 for WoT 0.9.19.0.1.

As far as I can see, this simply updates the mod (and specifically the directory structure) for the 0.9.19.0.1 micropatch.

Good Tanking!

UPDATE 8 June:

Updated the directory stucture to account for the WoT 0.9.19.0.2 micropatch. Nothing but the /mods/ directory structure has changed (moved from /0.9.19.0.1/ to /0.9.19.0.2/).

As a note, it looks like the XVM developers are actively working to fix and incorporate Ranked Battles into XVM; though that functionality is not yet enabled, those features look to be progressing nicely. As soon as that functionality is released, I'll post the update here.

Good Tanking!
