Well yes because the Lowe is a premium tank.

I have to wonder though, given that it doesnt have super-thick armor, where is all that weight coming from? I mean, a KT with thicker armor weighs only ~70 tons, why does the Lowe weigh an extra ~22 tons?

Not sure, but that turret and mantle looks pretty damn heavy

I want that. I thought it was going to be our top prem package instead of the M62e1.

Does anybody know how much credits it cost? I may just buy that when its ready. Like almost all the prem
tanks it may just be an average tank for its tier. But it still looks good.

Here's a little historical background on the Lowe (German for Lion):

(from my blog 'Hetzer Gonna Hetz')

http://3.bp.blogspot.../s1600/lowe.jpg

Historically, there was a Leichte (light) version with a companion Schwere (heavy) version. The Leichte was to have 100mm frontal hull armor, weighing in at 76 tons, with a rear mounted turret, planned top speed of 27kph. The Schwere would have a 120mm frontal hull, a centerline turret, and weigh 90 tons, planned top speed 23kph.

Both versions would carry a 105mm L70 gun. Later, Hitler ordered the Leichte version dropped in favor of the Schwere. He also ordered a redesign of the Schwere to increase frontal armor to 140mm and carry a 150mm L40 or 150mm L37 gun. It was to be powered by a Maybach HL 230 P 30, 12-cylinder engine producing 800hp. Löwe would be 7.74 meters long (with the gun), 3.83 meters wide and 3.08 meters high. Finally, in late 1942, the entire Lowe project was canceled to make way for the Maus.

Panzer Lowe Leichte concept

This tank is the missing link between the Tiger II and the Maus. It was planned that the Löwe would eventually replace the Tiger II, but instead the Maus replaced the Lowe. Unlike it's heavier brother, the Lowe might have made it into factory production, had Germany pursued it. No prototypes were created. World of Tanks has wisely opted to use the Schwere version, with the lower 120mm frontal amor and the 105mm (10.3cm) L70 gun. As a premium tank, this could be useful. It would have lower repair and ammo costs than a standard tier 8, and the 105mm would still lay the hurt on lower tier and smaller tanks. I simply wouldn't tackle a Tiger II or a IS-4 with it (let alone a Maus). Think of it as an oversized Matilda: heavily armored, but undergunned for it's size (and tier).

Honestly, the new premium KV-5 has the edge. It is tier 7 instead of tier 8, it has 170mm frontal armor, and also has a 107mm derp gun. Being lower tier alone gives it an huge advantage, but I'm betting the Lowe is the faster of the 2. Or at least it BETTER be.

It's as if a Sherman and a Tiger had a kid.  I'm very tempted to buy that.

I wish the Tiger and KT got those beefy looking offroad tracks. They look so threatening on the Lowe and JT.

Probably from the sheer size of it, though I'm only guessing.

They look awesome. The US Heavies are in desperate need of some wide-tread affection.

My only problem with this tank is the mobility. Traverse rates worse than any other Tier 8, and a power to weight ratio that's worse than any other tank that's in-game. (Barely edges out the KV-3 for that spot.)

The KV-5 has it worse, its power-to-weight ratio is 7.99. The Lowe's is 8.64.

The speculation based on a few of OL's comments and the released (and withdrawn) price of the Tier 8 Heavy tank M6A2 , is 10,000g, or something near there.

Question, how the hell do we get to see these premium tanks or are they all being tested on the RU servers with not a scratch, sniff or sight of them on the EU/US servers?
