While the 2 guns available on the Durchbruchswagen 2 are "historically accurate", neither of them allows the tank to perform within the "game balancing" parameters that Wargaming claims to provide the players. Allowing a third choice of either the  Kw.K. 40 L/43 that would give better pen over the starter  KwK 37 L/24 or the derp  Kw.K. L/28 giving lower pen/rof but higher dmg with HE would make the progression past the DW2 less of a PAINFULLY slow, win/loss-lowering chore to get to the VK 36.o1H or VK 300.02 M.

After all, per the Wiki on the development of the Tiger I (Officially know during design as the Durchbruchswagen 1) the DW 2 led to the development of the VK3001(H) medium tank and a VK3601(H) heavy tank along the way to the Tiger. The VK3001(H) medium tank never was designed to have the choice of the  Kw.K. 39 L/60 but this is what Wargaming has made as the carry-over gun from the DW2.

To quote the wiki:

"

Before Durchbruchwagen I was completed a new request was issued for a heavier 30 tonne class vehicle with thicker armour; this was the Durchbruchwagen II, which would have carried 50 mm of frontal armour and mounted a Panzer IV turret with the 7.5 cm L/24 cannon. Overall weight would have been approximately 36 tonnes. Only one hull was built and a turret was not fitted. Development of this vehicle was dropped in the autumn of 1938 in favour of the more advanced VK3001(H) and VK3601(H) designs. Both the Durchbruchwagen I and II prototype hulls were used as test vehicles until 1941.

On 9 September 1938, Henschel & Sohn received permission to continue development of a VK3001(H) medium tank and a VK3601(H) heavy tank, both of which apparently pioneered the overlapping and interleaved main road wheel concept, for tank chassis use, that were already being used on German military half-tracked vehicles such as the SdKfz 7. The VK3001(H) was intended to mount a 7.5 cm L/24 low velocity infantry support gun, a 7.5 cm L/40 dual purpose anti-tank gun, or a 10.5 cm L/28 artillery piece in a Krupp turret. Overall weight was to be 33 tonnes."

PLEASE consider this change of equipment specs in the next patch, V8.11.

So you want the D.W. 2 to lose it's special MM?

While giving it the 105mm howitzer would be lolzy, it'll also mean that it will have no reason not to get into tier 6 games.

Considering the hetzer's 105, and how tank versions of guns are worse than TDs.... expect the 105 reload to around the 9-10 second area.

Flametz; HOW is giving a third gun choice to the DW2 going to change it's "special MM"? IT does NOT get special MM, all Tier IV heavy tanks are given same matchmaking, Tier 4~5 matches per http://www.worldofta...ing-chart-8-9/. All I am saying is it needs a LITTLE help for balancing game play as compared to other tanks/tds it is matched up against.

If it gets the 105, it'll get standard +2/-2 instead of -2/+1.

It would be over performing for a tank with special MM. WG would never add the 105 howitzer without removing it's special MM.

Think about the B1, and why it got the same tier 4-5 MM. Crap guns. With the 105 the dw2 will no longer be known to have a crap gun.

result? no more special MM.

Besides, any sort of MM that isn't +2/-2 is special, whether it be scout MM (ouch) or premium/locked MM.
