I've been playing A GAME THAT IS TRULY INFERIOR TO WORLD OF TANKS™ and it has passive XP gain while you're logged off.

The way it works in SOME GAME NO ONE CARES ABOUT AND YOU SHOULDN'T EITHER is that you accumulate XP while you are logged off depending on how long you have been logged off. But there is a limit on how much you can gain. It typically caps out at 24 or 48 hours. But if you log in, the cap is reset and you can continue gaining passive XP.

This does three things.

First, it gives a fair shake to those who can't spend as much time in WoT and have real lives to tend to.

Second is that it helps create habituation. Just getting players to log in every day benefits the game financially.

Third is that this could be another avenue of profit. You can make it so that premium accounts give players more passive XP and/or give them a larger upper limit.

I know that there is already a problem with players who have very minimal battles reaching high tiers. But that's a different issue that can be solved in other ways.

How much you gain and what that time limit is can be discussed with an abacus and a slide rule in WG's office.

What do you think?

No.

Xp is earned. There are already too many bots that WG needs to address.

Too many players are getting ranked up too fast while doing nothing except getting their participation awards.

WG probably considers their daily doubles as enough to create habituation.

Lazy posts like this are so helpful for discussing improvements in the game.

The right rate would be figured out through market research and game testing.

But in terms of a general range, I am guessing around 1k a day is fair.

You don't get work experience by NOT working do you?

Its called "experience" for a reason.

Is this going to be the general response to anything that eases the grind at all?

WOW!

I'm trying to think of a MMO where a rest bonus accumulated while you were logged off...

But I doubt anyone wants to play a game where the reward for hrs of play is the same as a casual player.

I don't have the time to, or I would.

That is what I mean. If I am in this boat then I am not alone. There are probably lots of other players who would love to grind but are simply bereft of time to do so. This would help those players get those players out a little. I think 1k a day is absolutely fair without it allowing players to coast on that XP.

experience should be gained by actually doing something (in this case playing in battles).  This forum is full of threads about complaints regarding noobs, potatoes, etc. Earning xp while you're not even signed in to the game is just going to increase that bad player base.  All's I'd have to do is sign in every morning, no need to waste time gaining actual game experience.  After awhile I'd have all the xp I need, and none of the knowledge.

The grind is about getting experience.

I'm thinking this is a troll thread, nobody could be that (I can't say it, I've already got enough warnings from the mods about my comments).

It's actually a really good idea. I like it because of this reason: it may allow you to essentially free XP your way through the tech trees, yes- but even if you DO happen to do that, where are your credits? NOWHERE. This would be INCREDIBLY useful for higher tiers- as a F2P player, it takes me months to unlock things. I've been playing for over a year and just now unlocked a single tier 8 tank, the T32.

The idea of adding a bonus for Premium accounts is even better- Wargaming could make it(as much as this horrifies me) so that the free XP accumulated(NOT earned in battle, that would just be hurtful) at a faster pace while on a Premium account would reset when Premium account time ran out.

No it's not.  There's too many people with tier 10's for it to be "endless".
