I hate the map boarders!

When flying at top speed in combat it is very hard to notice an invisible wall marked by a very discreet red line on the ground...
Could we have a system implemented similar to BF2 where you received a warning and if strayed far enough or long enough outside the boarder, air support would lock onto you and blow your ass up.

I'm not entirely sure but the devs have stated the next patch fixes about 80% of the known stuck cases. Hopefully the thin red line of death is one of them.

well if you're not paying attention of the border, chances are u probably aren't very aware of your surrounding wich will end ultimatley in getting your ass blown up any way wich kinda makes this redundent.....srry....

thats just my apinion but hey, believe what u want to believe
, I doubt the devs will add anything like that any time soon if ever. they are a little preoccupied right now with clan wars.

Actually if your paying attention to what else is happening that is EXACTLY when you will drive into a basically invisible line, the devs have already acknowledged the issue and apparently the next patch includes a fix.
The main issue is that sometimes the lines are in places that just don't make sense, why put a red line you can get stuck on right next to a hill you could not drive up anyway... just stick it up on the top of the hill.

Soft borders would be great. That way if you misjudge your turning radius by a foot you don't stop instantly, get tracked and die.

I actually agree with spartans if you dont know you are near borders to begin with, you need to practice your situational awareness (and please think up a better excuse to the cops when you have an accident then I was driving so fast I didnt see that white line officer). Two, I've never had any problems spotting the red line, it is RED on a green (most of the time) ground. Three, while through my own stupidity I got stuck a few times in beta I havn't dont that so far with release, the red line seems more forgiving (but yes you still run into an invisible wall if you hit it at dead or near dead on).

You mean like fighting other tanks close to the boarders and you hit the read line.

They killed me in a light tank often, when I drive a light I need to pay attention to a lot of things at once, boarders are very hard to spot specially when looking at something else atm.

I died in my IS4 when i was zoomed in shooting at targets on the move to get to a spot of safety, to hit the thin red line and died an ugly death because i could not get off the line,,,what needs to be implemented is when you hit the line, it automatically kicks your tank out on a 45 degree angle, this way if you do hit it you dont get stuck.

I like this idea, I think it should also be done on buildings as well. A couple games ago my tank some how got flipped on it's side with it's under belly against the wall of a building, it really was annoying.

Try being slightly colour blind placing s pale red line on a green background is almost the singularly worst combination you could possibly create for a slightly colour blind person to see.
Likewise tiny red dots on a green background on the mini map, why do you think all us colour impaired folk are getting so mad it is taking them so long to come up with custom colours for these interface elements!!

I just learned of a colorblind skin, a clan member found it. It is called Colorblind Skin v1.5. It turns all enemy tanks blue, but not the red border line

. Still it is a huge help, the gun reticule is bright white, it really helps us color deficient folks.

Yah I was using some edited prefs xml's pre release that kinda helped (although when I tried to edit myself I killed the game

i think this should happen, get on the red line o' death and a satelite laser cannon should obliterate you from exsistance
since this game seems to be set in the 30th Century with 20th Century tanks
lol

I like this idea. Maybe make it stretch out the border a bit kinda like an elastic or something where u bounce back so u don't get stuck.

How about - the Red line marking the border of the map... the actual Border is beyond that by a couple of "average tank" lengths... once you cross the Red Line, screen goes grey like it does when you get killed, once this happens, no shooting at enemies and a timer(?) counts down in order to give you time to get back IN to the active map zone... if you don't... then death for certain, tank destroyed, crew captured by the enemy, any number of things to take you out of the game...

9 times out of 10 this is exactly what happens... except its the satellite guided HE round that does it!
