I hear good, and bad things about the T-34. I'm currently grinding my A-20 - Veeeery slowly - for the T-34, so I can try it out before WoT is released (I only have a total of 2k xp from two days :P) but I would like to hear the voices of some who already have it. What are its positive and negative points? Whats the best gun? Should you upgrade suspension, or engine first? Is the radio absolutely 100% worth it? Hows the armor? Is it a hide n' seek or a sniper? Historically the T-34 was a super tank, is it the same in WoT? I appreciate all the answers and feed back you guys give, and thank you for the time it took to give such answers.

Yea its awesome. Use the 57mm Zis gun it wrecks everything. I researched the modules all at once so I don't know what order you should get them but once you have it kitted out it destroys everything in equal tier or lower. When you are put into higher tier matches it makes a very capable scout. Its mobility, accuracy and decent sloped armor make it very effective for the flanking tactics used by mediums.

In terms of modules I would recommend vents, rammer and spall liner.

1. 57mm ZiS-4
2. Tracks should almost always be upgraded before engines
3. Radios are generally optional
4. Armor can only stop 50mm shells and below
5. Fast flanker/Heavy scout
6. T-34 wasn't a super tank

Finished my A-20 grind last night.

My Initial enthusiasm was crushed when I took the tank for a drive. Driving speed, turret and hull rotation was painfully slow, even when compared to the A-20. The main gun kept missing and bouncing rounds for the first 10 games ...

Then I took my A-20 for a few cash-runs and started upgrading the T-34. Upgraded suspension and turret and immediately i noticed a difference. The increase in turret rotation speed alone made a incredible difference. Next thing I am getting is the 57mm Zis. I prefer the smaller, higher penetration guns.

I still keep my T-34 from closed beta lol. its an awesome tank after all. the 57mm Zis plus the rammer is a machinegun.the speed is awesome too. though you cant really rely on your armor.

The T34 is okay, but I don't think its a particularly great tank. The M4 and PIV are great tanks at tier 5. The M7 and PIII/IV are sub-par and the T34 is somewhere in the middle.

The 57mm changed everything for me in the T-34. Until then, it was a painful grind. But with the 57mm it's probably the most fun tank I've had so far. Not the most dominant but pure fun. Although I don't know why you'd put a spall liner on it? I don't think anybody uses HE shells against T-34's paper thin armor.. or am I wrong?

Got several sniper medal with 57mm. Need to try 76mm more.

HE only for heavy tanks. T 34 armor can be penetrated by tier 4 gun and above.

I recently re-bought the T-34 as I didn't enjoy it the first time, even fully upgraded. Now that I have had some more time to learn the game I really enjoy the T-34 with the 57mm. The tank can scout but it's not a great scout. I find that I have to wait a bit for the battle to get under way then start to make a move. This tank can't take many hits so you really need to peek out and fire or if you find a lone tank, flank and attack on the move. The key though is not rushing in on supported tanks as you will die to quickly.

I love waiting about 5 minutes into the battle and finding a hole to break through and eat the SPG's, so yummy.

I've had a fully upgraded T-34 since closed beta. Only recently did I put the 57mm on. Wow! what a difference. It was part of my grind to get to a T44 before hardwipe. Now I play it all the time, plus it's a great earner. Like others have said, it's not indestructible so it does require thought to play.  Go Camo, Spall Liner, Rammer. If you sit back from bushes, not in them,  you can be invisible and put several good hits on tanks before they locate you. If you do get behind the main screen of tanks that's where the real fun begins.

Well I played my last game of the OPEN BETA AGE with my T-34. I was considering using my BT-2, which is one of my favorite tanks, but opted to go with the T-34 (57MM, rammer, camo) and I had a rather enjoyable game. The thought of grinding through it all again ... well I am not looking forward to it ... but to me the T-34 is worth it.

There is a recent thread on the Russian forum asking "what's the most popular vehicle for farming".

Top response was the T-34-57 (T-34 with a 57mm). Various KV marks (KV with a 107mm, KV with a 152mm, etc.) together took second place. The SU-8 came in third. [Other honorable mentions were the Panzer III, the Leopard/A-20 scout kamikazes, and the lowly Matilda.] Responses typically focused on things like "10k-15k creds or 30k+ with a premium account vs. 3k repair costs".

Read into that what you will.

For 'Farming' you can't go wrong with the VK3601(H).

With tracks/engine/radio upgrades and a fully trained crew, plus the 75MM Konisch in the standard turret, it's a great little earner.
Hull armor is 100mm/60mm/80mm, and standard turret 100mm/80mm/80mm so it can take a lot of punishment.  But, with the 75mm Konisch/Turret it is accurate with a fast traverse and high rate of fire (load, aim, fire in 4 seconds with a rammer).

Oh yeah, the T-34-85.  The VK/Konisch combo will go straight through it.

T-34 is 100% worth it, one of my favorite tanks in this game. One of my last games last night I parked inbetween 2 M6's and just started nailing one of them in the side with my 57 while constantly moving forward and reversing, they both shot each other about 3 times each trying to hit me while i pinged away for 8-11% per shot. I killed both, never took a single hit, ended the game chasing down 3 Bison and a M37 afterwards. Tank is fun when you abuse its speed and rate of fire. I wouldn't call it OP as its made of paper, but you definitely don't want to sit in front of its 57mm if you're Tier 6 or below. Death by papercut.

T-34 with 57mm Zis will be my chief money tank.  If you end up near the top of the tier in a battle, the 57mm will chew through all the lower tier stuff without them getting much chance to shoot back.  If you run into a PzIV with the big 75mm, you run around it pumping rounds in.  If you end up in the bottom of the tier in a battle, you hang back... take some pot shots at the heavies and then streak in at the end to kill the arty.  Against lower tier cannon, your sloped armor will keep you from taking a lot of damage.  T9 and T10 heavies can one shot you, if they see you.

T-34 fully upgraded, 57mm gun, 100% crew, gun-rammer, crew vent, gun laying drive = Pure Awesome.

I've gotten more 3 medal games in my T-34 than any other tank (I had the full Russian tree on mediums and tank destroyers and the heavy line up to the IS-4)

the T-34 is an AMAZING tank, it can murder anything up to an Is3 (if you know where to shoot)
The 57mm gun is a must, and rammer rly helps turings the t-34 into a death machine. Today i used it and owned 10 tanks, arties n spg's with it, while all their shots bounced off. Just make sure you your front plate faces the enemy
