You're exaggerating, honestly.

I honestly played Counter Strike: Source regularly for about 7 years, mostly on servers that had FF (friendly fire) turned on, but some that didn't.  There is a huge difference between how people played on non-FF servers and servers that used FF.

Yeah...that's counter strike. Why would an idiot waste his ammo trying to do team damage in the first place? Only morons and people without common sense do that BS.

You seriously are worried about someone who "spreads out the team kills about a week apart so the automatic system doesn't catch him?"

That sounds like some sort of serial killer conspiracy.  One team kill a week is probably the norm for someone that plays a lot and doesn't intentionally team kill.  Accidents do happen.

Also, as someone who doesn't intentionally team kill, I like to have that clean history available on those rare occasions when some idiot really needs to be shot.

ok tell me this in a tier X match a person shoots another tier X reloads and shoots again to kill the player, 3 times over a period of a month lets say for conversation sake :blinky:what would we call this?

I'm actually waiting for a platoon of players to come on some time and pull this, so the way the system is right now if a platoon of players decided to kill a particular player and failed and the player kills the platoon he would get banned even though he's defending him self

I suggest a proactive EFFECTIVE banning mechanism instead.

Maybe they should just include friendly fire damage and team kills in the player stats page.

FF has a pretty huge effect:

it does friendly fire

I'm not sure if people know that, but it actually DAMAGES your teams' tanks! It takes away xp. It takes away your credits. It makes you less likely to win which also take away xp and credits. In short, it is far worse than driving into the water.

FF happens for a lot of reasons. My last situation I FF'd on I was using gold shells on my 212A arty, so an 8m area.  There was 2 of us left on our team and one of him, and my teammate decides he's going to ram him.  If he fails, and he did, I lose visibility of the enemy until he is in sight and I'm dead and we lose the game.  Unless I get incredibly lucky with a shot.  I didn't have a spare 40 seconds to swap out a non-gold shell either.  I killed them both and we won the game.

Now, it doesn't always happen like that.  Probably it usually doesn't.  But if FF is in, that's a risk you take.

As an avid TD player and sniper I get my fair share of guys jumping in front of my tank when I fire or suddenly rolling in front of a distant target as the round travels down range (those make me cringe the most) .

I generally try to get on team chat if I'm not too busy and say "OOOPs sorry man" and I've yet to run into player whom gets overly upset.

as i put in my suggestion thread team kills should go on a persons record.

also think times a player has been team killed should be on record to show who is just a troll or a fail platoon moron.

as a recruiter i would like to be able to see this and question members if they have excessive amounts before allowing them to join.

some say trolls will try get to be top player with team kills.. this would only target them by wg and should get them banned.

have to say great conversation, everyone, guess the long and short is FF, team killing, or what ever we want to call it why does the player that tries to do well or actually does do well in a game have to be punished cause a dozen or so players can't or don't play well, can we not be awarded for how well we do in game personally win or lose? P.S. in a positive way.
