LOL, almost never been blind shot, that's pretty rare in pub matches.

I've only seen it in pubbies on province. Someone was shooting bushes that are common hiding spots one night.

No offense, but after watching first two videos (Abbey) I have some doubts if those spotting locations on the eastern riverside road are of any use. While you were able to spot approaching enemy, none of your teammates had line of fire and were unable to capitalize on your spotting. And by the time they got to the position where they were able to shoot, spotting was no longer needed, as they could easily see the enemy themselves, I think.

No offense taken, and you're basically right, Abbey is a very difficult map to passively spot on, but that being said I don't post replays with less than 1K spotting damage, preferably 2K+.  With a more powerful tank like a 1390 you can impact things much more, but with a dinky little Tier 6 scout tank you gotta pray your team has their act together.  Everybody clicks on Abbey North Start first since it's alphabetically on top, maybe I should put something else on the top that is a better example to start with...

Because you all know that it is the power of a scout which lets it get spotting damage...  The River Road bushes are decent passive spots IF you have people move into position fast enough AND the enemy doesn't advance into the middle road area right away.  The truth about Abbey is, however, there are no consistently good passive spots.  Many times you serve your team better in the Hills or middle or by staying mobile.

The problem with this entire series is that it pretends you should always passive scout - on many maps you shouldn't.

Always brings a warm glow to my heart to know you value my threads so highly as to continue trolling them, thanks man.  Nice to see your WR and WN8 numbers are coming up too, keep up the good work.

My dear friend Tazilon does have epically detailed scouting guides for those who want to take it to the next level, more power to you and to him, clicky on his ProScout linky.

I'm more playing to the basic "OMG, Tier 10 match in my almost stock T21 on Siegfried Line, wth I do now..." audience, because whatever the map or tier, you my n00b scouting friends CAN help your team without just charging in for a brief spot and an inevitably quick ignoble death.

Maybe you should include battle result summary in the future videos, so the viewers would have some more insight about what actually was accomplished.

And taking into account that this series focuses on passive spotting locations, which are very susceptible to map changes, it would be great if replays from outdated maps would be marked on the list. Just a suggestion. :)

Love passive scouting, but haven't done it for months, and definitely don't know the maps the way that I used to with all the recent changes.

Great compilation of videos, thanks for sharing with the community.

When maps change I just remove and re-do the videos (as the MM grants me the opportunity).  Redshire for instance was a huge update in v8.9, both for the map and the Encounter flag location.  If you find something that really should be thrown out because the map has substantially changed that I didn't catch then please let me know.

I think that both Erlenberg Standard videos are based on the old map (I haven't been around long enough to be really familiar with the previous version of the map, so I don't know how substantial are the changes, but I think they were quite significant).

Not trolling at all.   The only problem with your thread is you present passive scouting as the best option on all maps - it isn't.  When new scouts go looking for advice they don't need sites telling them to passive scout on every map.  You would do newer scouts a greater service by also pointing out which maps are best scouted using NON-passive scouting techniques.

(By the way, the moment you mention WNx and Scouts, you lose any credibility you have.)

Just managed to pick up Ace in my Luchs, as well as Patrol Duty thanks to these guides.  I still suck, but I'm learning and improving with every battle.  Once my crew is fully trained I think I'll be having loads of fun.  Ace was picked up in a Tier VII battle, those big guys couldn't see my little tank in the bushes until the end when I got impatient and took some pot shots at the track of a Tiger.

Nice ghost_soul, keep up the good work.  Once you get 6th Sense, good crew cammo, and a tank that can deal real damage like a 1390 or WZ-132, life gets very fun indeed.
