I love this game so far but I have been having some problems with graphics and crashing that have taken away from some of the fun.

1) Upon battle load or garage load; gun barrel, treads, and nation markers on tanks are the only things visible. Closing the game and re-loading solves it. Has happened only a few times so far; I don't know if any circumstances trigger it.

2) Around 1-in-3 battle loads results in a crash during the loading screen. I log back in and get taken to the loading screen again, for a successful load. It has never crashed during load again on a re-load.

3) If the game crashes during load on Ensk (I think that is the name), when I re-load it, the sky is black. I haven't encountered a "night" map yet so I assume this is a glitch and not intended. Apologies if the "nighttime" appearance is intended.

Edit to add: I experience lots of fluctuation in FPS, even when nothing is happening in a battle. Jumping from 30 to 60 down to 7, just all over.

I had this problem early on, and updating the graphics drivers for my card helped. I have the same graphics card, but think my driver is from March now. I have it auto update. Other thing to do is check DirectX also. I am Running version 11.  No graphics problems here and I run the game at full graphics.

Thank you for the reply 81firebird.

My graphics drivers was the latest build. Despite that, your reply made me decide to try downloading the build again just on a prayer. Amazingly, it solved the problems. I ran 15 battles without a loading crash. I got in Ensk on one and I could see the overcast sky rather than just black. I have no idea how these things work, but apparently even if your gfx drivers build is the latest, it doesn't mean they are updated?

Regarding DX11, the 9 series of Nvidia cards, to my knowledge, only supports up to DX9? Getting some input on this would be nice.

I did experience a crash that I didn't get before. After a battle, it went to the garage, showing some of the icons/text, but not loading any graphics (just black background). Windows played its error sound. I could move my cursor, some parts of the screen showing the normal arrow cursor, others showing the finger cursor. CTR+ALT+DEL didn't work and neither did ALT+Tab. I had to flip the power supply switch and restart my system. That only happened once so I will just wait and see how things go after WoT goes live.

EDIT to note that my fps fluctuation went way down and when it did fluctuate, it never dropped below 30.

Have to come back and say I still have the gfx problems. It ran fine last night but I started up today again and I am getting black sky on Ensk and battle load crashes again.

I can tell you that you are not the only one having this problem with ENSK. Before the patch 0.6.3.10 it worked fine. The most funniest part is that, it actually works some day and next day I will have the problem again. Yesterday I had even problem with Ruinsberg, but ENSK worked fine, but today ENSK crashed again. If this things happens I get the like night battle. I would accept that night time battle if there would be no loadingscreen crash.

Ruinberg is usually the map after Ensk that causes me the most problems. It is fairly rare that it happens on Ruinberg, usually only happening if I recently had an Ensk crash (within a few battles). Does your garage frequently appear black (textures not loading) except for a few odd pieces in it more times than not after you end a game that you crashed during load on?

The "some days it works, some days it doesn't" is something I have definitely noticed. I can play for hours without a problem, seeing Ensk load a couple times without issue in the map rotation. When I go to play again, I have continuous loading crashes, missing textures in garage, "night" maps, and crashes when leaving a battle, all just hammering me match after match. <_<

Daemus, I have EXACTLY the same problem, and the same version of Windows.
Also a black sky in Ensk.

I bet if you check:
Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer > Application
after a crash it says the problem is d3dx9_31.dll

It appears to be bad game code when accessing the 64-bit version of this DirectX9 DLL

Does not appear to be your video card, as I have same problem with a 9800, GTX260, and two other cards.

This started the day after the March patch to fix the memory bleed issue.

Seperate issue that started with Live patch is sudden spikes to 5 FPS each time an enemy tank is sighted by a friendly or lost to view.

Thanks for suggesting to check the Event Viewer. My most recent crash gave the following error, associated with the same dll that you mentioned.

It has been about a month since release and I have yet to see a fix. I rarely play anymore because of the annoyance from crashing so frequently. I like the game but I am sick of not seeing any fix to this very annoying problem. :(

I set all graphical settings to lowest possible. No crashes so far.
