I was just in a match when my tank was "destroyed." I still had 24 hp, only my left track was damaged (the tank didn't have all the red parts like usual), and my tank wasn't blown into pieces. I tried to SS it, but for some reason it didn't work. Sorry.

Were all your crew dead?

As polarman said, if all of your crew die, the tank is considered to be destroyed.  Starting tanks only have 2-3 crew members, so this is a lot more common at tier 1 than any higher tier.

Also, I know a lot of people with windows can only take screenshots while in windowed mode.

They were alive. Only my track was damaged. I was in windowed mode O.O

Alive is not the same thing as incapacitated.
