Why isn't the 59-16 allowed while the premium Type-64 is?

Last time I checked, T-50 isn't a tier 5 light.

Ha-go (about 8 tons equipped, nothing special to block it's use that I see)

VAE type B (about the same as a T26, again no reason I see not to allow one)

Chi HA (yeah this one is a medium in one tree and a light in the other, I see why you might exclude it)

D1 (high armor and slow)

H35 (high armor and slow)

AMX38 (high armor and slow)

AMX40 (high armor and slow)

T-60 (high armor?)

T-70 (high armor?)

T-80 (high armor?)

so if armor is the issue why allow the PZ-1C and PZ II? Or is it just trying to keep the list simple?

The 59-16's autoloader would be a little too good at killing everything in sight immediately with little repercussions. The 2801's derp at least has to deal with mediocre handling and a big sluggish blocky chassis.

Any tournament where the Luchs is a viable option is a good tournament. Go team light tanks!

For any teams who are new to this, form this team composition:

Chaffee

Chaffee

Luchs

Type 64

Type 64/2801

The Chaffee is the best tank option available, and if the rules allowed it, five Chaffees would be the correct team comp. The ELC is a viable replacement for a Luchs+tier 6 if you plan on playing a camping sniper game, but you'd better be really familiar with the terrain of the new Redshire. The 12t is garbage, all the Russian vehicles are garbage, The Luchs is just the clear best tier 4 option (the Ke-Ho and M5A1 are just slightly worse Luchs) and the tier 2 and 3 options are awkward to place into the team. The Cruiser 4 is great and the Cruiser 3 is fine, but when would that make sense with the tier points unless you're not bringing Chaffees for some reason?

12t is garbage? It's not great in a regular game due to it's bad manuverability, but i'm just thinking about the fact that that autoloader will take out any other tank in about 6-8 seconds. I'm not saying you're wrong, but is it just because of the bad acceleration?

That shouldn't matter since anyone can use the 59-16, the AMX12t also has an autoloader. What I'm wondering about is why would they let in the type 64, since that would be only available to people to spend plenty of dosh to buy it.

I want to hear why WG thought it would be a good idea to let the Type 64 be played and not the 59-16.

Uh, the AMX 12t's "autoloader" is a 135 damage gun that reloads in 2.22 seconds between shots. It also has a nominal aim time of 2.5 seconds plus the French line's horrendous aim bloom. The AMX 12t is also incredibly sluggish.

The 59-16's crappy autoloader is a 115 damage gun that reloads in 1.33 seconds between shots. It'll fire it's 5 shots for 575 damage in five and a half seconds, crapping out its damage much faster than the 12t will. The 59-16 is mobile enough to put that gun into play.

The Type 64 is a lightly worse Chaffee, which is good enough. It lets teams easily get a decent tier 6 that isn't the T21, since there seriously is no reason to bring a T21 over a Chaffee.

It occurs to me this would be a much more interesting skirmish without the Chaffee.

59-16 autoloader also reloads very quickly as I recall, and is a really fast tank.

And the issues it has with low penetration doesn't apply when everything you face is light tanks of the same tier, as opposed to say... tier 9 heavies or mediums.

I think you'll probably see variations of what Hellsau mentioned.

Staples will be the 2 Chaffee's.

12t vs MT-25 vs type 64s as the option for your 2 tier 6's, We may be leaning toward 12ts but it may depend on #1 the driver #2 the availability, not everyone has type 64's.

Luchs as a 4.

Why is the 12T allowed and not the 59-16? Both are auto loaders and have about the same penetration. The only difference I see is that the 59-16 is more monueverable and has better acceleration. Also the Chinese light reloads faster.

I won't be entering this one. No 59-16, then this is bogus. I love light tanks 59-16, WZ-132, and AMX-1390 are the best. Disappointing Wargaming
