I use the setting (Config no friendly fire / 2 sec no corpse shot)  In a battle today I did damage to a friendly. Is it not working or did I pick the wrong one?

To my knowledge/experience, Safe shot won't let you fire if there is a friendly in the cross hairs.  If the shot is clear and the friendly drives past once the shot is already released.... prepare for a fine.

1. Update Safeshot.

2. ONLY use Notepad ++ to edit the file.  Using Notepad and many others does not work, mod will stop working.

 

3. If your round has already been shot when an ally goes into your shot, obviously it won't work.  Safeshot helps, is not 100% fullproof.

Well....I'm not sure - I don't use this mod However, what I can say is: that for the last two days when I have attempted to up date the OMC Mod pack, it appears to be down.

 

So... there may well be a glitch.

Thanks All.  It was a case of friendly moving around in front of me. I was in sniper mode and didn't detect his movement.

Hated the no friendly fire mod.

 

Sometimes I would put my crosshairs over a friendly tank (no chance of hitting him unless he moves), but it wouldn't let me fire. Seems if your targeting too close to a friendly, you can't fire. Very inconvenient when fighting close quarters in a town and we are a couple of tanks bunched together trying to share cover.

So if an ally passes in front of you, you can't fire until 2 second until he passes? That could be inconvenient when you are in a city map and there are a lot of people with you.

No......  It doesn't generally fire when you "highlight" his tank.....

The two seconds is in relation to "dead tanks".  There's a function in which the mod won't let you shoot dead tanks (so you don't waste a round), and that is adjustable, 2 sec's for example.

That part of the mod is the most helpful.

Good mod but it disables my ability to punish asshattery.

Ya, it's a throttle alright.....  but you get used to it, and really you're only punishing yourself when you punish ***hattery.

I never use no shot vs allies. It limits me in shooting just over or under them. I do have mine set to tell me a message when Im about to shoot a friendly though.

 

I took an old version and updated it to keep that  feature.

Has saved me several times from shooting tanks that died literally less than a second or less before I fire, saving that shot for the next red guy.  Thanks.

^This^ ,  any highlighted or ally in cross hair will not allow shot to be fired.  The time part of the mod refers to the cool down on being able to fire on a dead tank.  Personally I like the 2 second setting as it gives me enough time to realize not to shoot.  Just as with ally tanks any round fired prior to the death or moving into the shot will not change the outcome.

It's been working completely fine with regular Notepad. Mod does not stop working.
